First impression, the final 3 songs on this album are so good. This album is very balanced. After the first couple songs you're thinking, "Well this is pretty good I just hope it keeps up." And the last half of the album comes along and punches you in the face!

The band has tried with other producers and fallen well short of AFTW. Glad everyone came together and made this album happen. I imagine this is what they hoped BW would be, but it just missed the mark. This album sounds incredibly full. Boyd is back!!! I'd put this above BS and way above BW. Best album in over a decade!

You can space it out so it isnt one track as well, but I didnt go there.

This is not working for me...says it is not a burnable format? Anyone else have this issue. Any ideas how to get this seperated?

Agree completely. Verses are dripping with Too Much. Chorus has a very Crazy-Easy feel to it. And yeah SMLAM is probably the glue holding the two together.

I feel like the beginning of Drunken Solider reminds me of the commercials on BTCS

The point where boyd comes in for DS very much reminds my Karma Police by Radiohead

This album is great IMO, upon the first listen It didnt fully catch me which I think is very good. I think if you absolutely love something at first that doesn't mean anything but after a couple of listens we can make a better analysis but there is something about this album that said "Play me again, theres more to me than what meets the eye" and that makes me feel so happy.

When I first listened to BW I didn't really want to listen to it again but this was just calling me.

To the people who said there aren't enough solos, I think that a solo on a studio release could be a creative wall when it transfers over to live. It says now there has to be a (place instrument here) solo at this point. I feel like there were a ton of places left for solos to happen; the End part of Snow Outside, The end of Drunken Soldier, etc.

Overall I am very happy

i wish they wouldnt have tried to copy pink floyd at the end of drunken soldier. rest of the album is great.

On my third run through before I break to watch the convention. New things keep jumping out at me. I am really pleased with this return to the old, yet a lot of new feel and style as well. Drunken Soldier just really puts a beautiful bow on the whole thing.

On the album note... listening to Drunken right now... it's good and a pretty chill tune and all but I don't know that I get it. It's all over the place to me. Perhaps in the greater picture it fits the album but for now it just sounds like a really good glorified jam. Nothing wrong with that.

Actually, FLAC is worth it even if you are listening on your iPod. You can use a program like XLD to convert FLAC to Apple Lossless. It will have lossless quality and iTunes will accept it.

I think you are reading way too much into the Pink Floyd thing. There is a difference between being influenced ny something and copying. Copying makes them sound cheap and without ideas. I think it's kind of disingenuous to say that they copied anything.

Dave Matthews Band should never release another tune without Lillywhite's stamp on it. I'm not sure how this ranks with the big 3, the good stuff tends to grow on me and gets better with time. However, this is light years ahead of Everyday, Stand Up and even Big Whiskey. Light years.

The attention to detail is just incredible. There is cohesion between songs, a general flow throughout the album, and everyone's talents are highlighted. Welcome back things such as Boyd Tinsley, Carter's ever so soft but incredibly fast high hat play, Dave's unusual, yet striking acoustic play, etc. etc. etc.
