Re: Favorite beer of choice?

Went to Elm City Brewing in Keene, NH and then Brewtopia nearby for some unique craft beer. Good times. Drove back to Massachusetts and stopped at Wachusett Brewery and holy moly that place is huge. Might be the biggest in size and staff the biggest brewery I've ever been to. Really nice setup with music (live band) outdoors, including the violinist to the DMB cover band "Crush." Highly recommended.

I love beer so much, for the feeling it gives plus flavors. I still miss Pete's Wicked Summer Brew. It's gone. I love beartooth lager, beartooth blueberry, and Pyramid apricot ale. I love red stripe and coors banquet. I love pumpking beers. I ove grolsch and altenmunster. I really love Schlitz.

Quick trip to San Diego is over. Made it out to Lost Abbey and picked up a 4 pack of THC from The Hop Concept. Also bought a bottle of Veritas, batch 019.

Was going to try to take the Veritas bottle with me but didn’t leave myself enough room in my suitcase. Was amazing though. Tart sour with a balanced blend of raspberries. Also went to Half Door in the Gaslamp district (since it was a 5 min walk from the Air BnB). Legit food and legit beer. Maybe my favorite beer/food place I visited this trip. Got to listen to some of the Padres/Giants game from outside the stadium on Thursday night which was cool.

Really enjoying 90 minute IPA ATM (Dogfish Head). Fairly widely available. Magic Hat #9 is altogether impossible to find in my neck of the woods now and it is far and away my favorite fall beer.

I spent some serious money in the past tracking down LA sours. Nice to see they are still doing good stuff out there.

Half Door is a prime spot. Have been a few times for pre game. Not a fan of their beer, but the location and setup is amazing.

    No visit to Pure Project??

First Tavour box just arrived. It kinda takes a while from the time it ships, but I'm looking forward to trying some new beers. Unfortunately one of the ones I ordered was missing, so I'm hoping they will credit my account or give me a refund.

Theyre pretty quick with crediting your account for fuck ups. Ive complained about shipping delays and got account credits before even.

Other Half 4 packs are on the shelves at Wegmans here now

I've cut back significantly, but my local go to is Froth. Liquid Lollipops are comparable with the Hydras from Mortalis. Froth is also less than 5 minutes from my house, so it just makes sense to support them. They are good dudes. I brewed a pastry stout with Jesse and Irm last February before COVID for a festival. They are barrel aging some stouts now, so those will generate some buzz locally when they release.

Its so awesome that Side Project releases their stuff with a proxy option now, but fuck are they expensive in the packages they make you buy with extra saison bottles. Couldve pulled the trigger on BA Abimente earlier but just cant justify $120 + shipping and proxy fees.

I am splitting a Coco Vibes package with a buddy we scored last week, $60 is significantly more bearable lol

so does Tree House now. local razzlers are pissed they are just being asked to proxy now instead of upcharging for brews.

Didnt realize Treehouse started that, pretty sweet.

I was able to score Trillium Double Barrel Tiramisu with a proxy.

I recall a lot of batch variation with Captain's Daughter early on but I would assume they rectified that. I was always a big Pour Judgement fan, then they started contracting it down the road from me and it was simply undrinkable; I don't believe I have had a Grey Sail brew in over a year or two.

Yeah I mean, I think I've been drinking CD for over five years now. They have slid into a really consistent spot with it the past 2-3 years, it's easily my favorite beer. Plus the can art is just so awesome. I love the brewery's whole aesthetic.

Any specific styles of beer you prefer? Also, are you open to anything in the metro area or looking to stay in any specific areas?

Thinking about it I don't believe I have been there since the state take-away limit was raised from 72 ounces.

It’s for my dad. He’ll be in the area and asked for recommendations. I know he typically likes IPAs & stouts. I think he’s going to stay downtown or near that area.

The two best breweries for IPAs are Black Stack and Barrel Theory. Both taps rooms are currently closed and only selling growlers. Black Stack distributes cans, but Barrel Theory does not.

Places I'd encourage him to check out include Modist, Fair State, Town Hall, Dangerous Man, Sisyphus and Steel Toe.

If he's looking to bring any beer home, Zipps is the place to go. It is close to downtown and sells singles of pretty much everything.

Damn, Treehouse opening a taproom in Cape Cod?!? Hell yea.

Also just got back from Lake Tahoe. Found a small liquor store that had a stellar bottle selection. I even got to sip on an Avery Tweak while shopping . Drank the best kriek I’ve ever had on our wedding day:
