Yeah I don't blame him at all, just don't want the Red Sox to try to be TB

I'd like to amend my take on this: I forgot how much the media absolutely freaking loves buster posey. I mean those baseball beat guys are like phil coulson carrying around captain america cards when it comes to posey. he's definitely getting in because those guys will carry the day.

Curious, what about Joe Mauer then? I know my thoughts but would be curious of others.

Mauer and Posey are two players where I see arguments for both sides. Posey was one of the best catchers in baseball in the era he played, but he's not high on the all-time catchers list.

Mauer was basically a DH half his career, and his numbers are good for a career catcher.

I think ultimately the reasoning for a yes on posey and a no on mauer will be the three WS rings

so that's the difference for me. I think both, as they currently stand, don't "deserve" to get in, using the present day qualifications. However, Buster could drive over the bridge and go DH for Oakland for 6 more years and would be a shoe-in HOF.

This. Posey won three titles with really good numbers. You take away the titles and he's just remembered as a really good player who was one of the best at his position during his career.

he wouldn't have to go anywhere to be a DH

Posey also caught two or maybe three no hitters and a perfect game.

so he wasn't a career catcher, which diminishes his numbers...over 1500 games played, only about 900 as catcher....goo numbers for a catcher, not good numbers for DH or 1B

Posey was a career catcher, has similar #s, and 3 rings. Huge difference for me

That was my point with Mauer. His numbers reflect a good career for a career catcher, but he wasn't, which will be his ultimate detriment.

Rangers we’re offering $10 Black Friday seats for various games so I thought what the hell? Went to check out for a couple of good seats for a mid week Rockies/Rangers game and it said I had credit so I could get the tickets for free? Well obviously I did that and tried for another game (Rangers/Astros). Free again. So I do that two more times and ended up with 2 tickets for three different games next year for $4 out of pocket. I called box office to see what the credit was from…apparently I had bought Rangers/Astros tickets in early 2020 and never requested a refund (didn’t know I could) so they credited my account! Going to be seeing a lot of bad baseball next year in person! Exciting none the less.

Jon Gray to the Rangers . Rangers are like Oprah right now. U get a contract and u get a contract! Everyone gets a contraaaact. Wonder what the dollar amount will be to Gray. Hope it’s not crazy. But the leadership will help Leiter and the other young prospects.
