When he didnít realize I used his logic in my Celtics post I hit him with my best Ricky impression which also flew over his head

Imo that renders all his stat geek post moot

I don't know why you're holding different standards for Brady/Manning (and the other lesser mobile NFL QBs) and Mac Jones. You don't have to be a great scrambling QB in the NFL to be successful...even today.

Exactly! NFL scouts love Jones' pocket awareness and movement. He's incredible against pressure.

    2021-2022 NFL Season

Shanahan also passed on Watson and MaHomes and drafted Beathard in the third round

So who knows what he will do but Jones that early will be a mistake imo for anyone

If Shanahan likes Jones, he should have just signed Andy Dalton, and saved his first rounders.

The knock on Fields is a bigger concern to me, which is that he struggles past his first read.

Except that Fields is the best QB in the draft on throws after his first read:

What the scouts are worried about isn't his accuracy on the throws after the first read, it's the speed (or lack there of)in which he makes those reads. That's why he struggled so badly against Alabama. That's what the scouts are seeing on tape, and one reason he's slipped to 4th in the QB pecking order.

That was one of Winston's biggest on-field criticisms and one of the reasons I didn't want us to draft him.

5 years later he still couldn't/wouldn't look off his first read.

Did you let everyone else in the draft room know?

They wouldn't listen and said passing the eye test was good enough.

Yea, that's why Tampa had to replace him after 5 years, and he couldn't get a starting gig when he left

Yeah, that seems to be the worry with Fields. Donít get me wrong, I think heís good and will play a long time in the NFL, but I see why heís dropping a little.

I still think the Niners take him if the Jets take Wilson.

I just don't understand why you wouldn't take one of the "project" QBs if you still have Jimmy G under contract this year and next. The upside is just so limited with Jones.
