Re: Dating is miserable

I get that you were trying to be cordial, but I think it was a bad move. That's speaking from experience.

I don't get why sending an email to an ex or someone you had a falling out with is so boneheaded. If it's innocent and casual, who cares? Why do people have to be dicks about it? And why is there this negative stigma associated with it? It shouldn't be that way.

Got your e-mail. Stop trying to cause drama. I'm not your friend. Get over it.

Here is the email in its entirity:

    Hey Anne,

I just wanted to say happy birthday!

Also, S4 Sons of Anarchy started last night in case you missed it.
If I didn't work with this girl, I wouldn't have sent her an email, but since I do work with her and see her, thought it was apporpriate. Whatever though. I'm really not worried about it.

Sending a birthday email to an ex makes her think you're not over her, regardless if you actually are or not.

I mean, yeah, even if that is the case, I don't really get the big deal. If my birthday came along and an ex said "hey, noticed that today is your birthday. Hope all is well!" I'd just think "oh, that's nice".

I may not respond, but I wouldn't think my ex is a douche for sending it.

I agree. For the ex's birthdays that I actually remember, I wouldn't think it wrong of me to send a quick happy birthday message. Albeit I wouldn't remind them of a season premier of a show we would watch together since I would think they would get the "I'm not over you" message from that.

We didn't watch the series together, FYI.

I really don't see the big deal about the email, especially since we see each other amost everyday. Would it have been better to be one ofmaybe two people in the office who didn't say happy birthday? I guess I really don't know.

This sounds like something teenagers do to be quite honest. I'm 35 and work with this gorl. She's not someone I run into during homeroom.

So... that chick I hooked up with turned super psycho last night. I noticed on FB she checked in to the bar right by my house, and literally 30 seconds later I got a phone call which I ignored, followed by this text: Hey I'm at Kelly's, I saw your car parked and your lights on, can I come over? What. The. Fuck!?!?! I told you I don't want anything. Now you're checking if I'm home? (Yes, I was home on a Friday night, fuck you) I told her I was out and didn't drive, and then I got a flurry of texts saying it must be nice that guys can turn their feelings off and that she wouldn't call me anymore. So I'm glad she won't, but I was honest and up front about what I wanted. Why the fuck does the D make all of you women so fucking crazy?

I'm 'a fucking idiot with men.

Hottie of the office, whom I want to mount, just came in and we were chit-chatting about random things. He then complimented me on my necklace. I am wearing a few pearl necklaces, and they are all staggered, and he said something like "I like the retro secretary look you have with the necklaces today".

Great, right? Well, me and my big, stupid, fucking retarded self thought he was complimenting my overall look, not the necklaces, so my bit mouth had to say "oh, thanks. It's probably the titty cream I started using last night!"

    He ran out.

Right? What is wrong with me?

To be fair, he and I kind of have a playful flirty relationship. He'll come in and poke fun at something on my desk and we'll go back and forth a bit throughout the day. It's just once in a while, I say the most insanely ridiculous things. It just slips out of my mouth, and he goes running.

I wish he'd break up with his GF and I could ask him out for a beer or something. I love him.

Oh, it's not. I just blurted it out. It was supposed to be one of those jokes, like "hey, your hair looks good today" and then someone jokes like, "thanks, I actually washed it!"

It was supposed to be more like "You look good today" and I reply with "Thanks, I bathed!" or something goofy, but it slipped out "Must be the new titty cream!"

    wtf.

I do love Lush products, but sometimes they can be too scented for me. Have you tried any of their facial creams and masks?
yeah, sometimes they smell like dirt and fruit. not good.

I love the ocean salt scrub...its amazing, and tastes like margaritas. No, I don't eat it, but sometimes I get some in my mouth. (TWSS)
I am a fan of the tea tree toner. I haven't had much luck with their lotions. I have super oily/sweaty skin, so their face lotions make me look like an oil slick...even then ones that say they suck up oil. No worky for me.

I more/less love their shower gels and exfoliators. Pretty sure the buffy bar is the best exfoliating bar on the planet.

Edit: The best was my friend, Marc, who works at Lush, hooked me up with a full-sized tub of the boobie cream for free. But, he was like, "hey, I want you to have one of these and not pay for it, because I want you to have an even better rack!" I love gay men who are friends that work at Lush. he's a sample whore.

Oh that's nice, I want to be Marc's friend.

I have a strict facial regimen I do, I am trying to preserve.

But the "Love Lettuce" facial mask is amazing and I had another Blueberry one I loved as well.

I have to go try their exfoliators.

Next time I'm in there, I'll say "hey, hook a sistah up with some samples I can send to Angela" and he'd say "does she like shower jelly!!??!". He's always trying to push that.

I have a mud mask (not from Lush) that I'm kind of tired of, but I'm super picky about masks, since I need one that dries me the F out.

And yeah, the buffy bar is amazing for awful areas. I have these tiny bumps on the back of my arms (pretty much they are pores that have keratin build-up in them) and buffy is the only thing that smooths them out. I swear they put pieces of broken glass in the bar.
