actually I help people like this avoid getting in trouble. Whenever an IRS auditor comes into our office we make them going to to basement to use the desk down there because "we don't have any workspace available upstairs." That's a big lie. Decided to revisit Fenway '06 during my work listening today. N1 definitely has one of the best Pigs

so, last weekend I was asked to be in one of my good friend's weddings next summer. The date is June 15th. I told him it better not interfere with DMB. He laughed. I didn't.

have to drive myself there and then home and I will not risk DUI

although, I am working on a way to get a ride there and then home...in which case i will drink as many as i can in the time alotted...but things are not going in my favor on that front at this point

Its definitely no laughing matter. I cross my fingers every time a friend gets engaged hoping they pick the fall or spring. Summer is too much of a gamble

I have not had to skip an important wedding for a DMB show (there are few ppl in this world that would be given that honor)

Things i have skipped for DMB shows:

1. Traditional Family xmas celebration for 12.22.03 (family gathering was the day before, i went up that day) - rewarded with a once in a lifetime show

2. Final presentation for capstone course of business school at ball state on final day of college for 7.25.05 - rewarded with YNK and #34 and still got an A in the class

3. Walking in my college graduation ceremony 2 days later - rewarded with SayBye, BOWA, & WYA (borrowed a cap & gown and took pictures in front of beneficence as if i was there )


however, I have missed some historical shows because of a wedding....MY OWN WEDDING!!!!! Red Rocks '05 9/9-12/05....wedding was on 9/9/05....have regretted not going straight to colorado ever since, because I'm pretty sure that 9.11.05 would be considered my all time favorite show had i been in attendance

I skipped a gathering of my high school friends that they do every summer for 4th of July for Alpine 2010. Do not regret it. I got several texts saying "wish you were here" or "wish you coulda been here"...i responded "I don't".

i feel like my life would be on a different arc if i lived within walking distance of a bar like that....and not in a good way

I'll be ok...if i can work out a ride, greak, if not, I'll drink my 2 or 3 and maybe go back friday to see if it is still going

Funny enough...the following year, they couldn't have the cookout on 4th of July so they moved to the following weekend - DMB LAKESIDE CARAVAN. While they didn't understand, there was no way i was missing that.

I should have emphasised that more. he's one of my 3 best friends. Played hockey together from when we were 6-18 years old. Also, one of my roommates in college.
