This would be a good thing

If they made live trax 20 the 8-19-08 show and included a video of bartender from this night or made it a box set with video of the whole show.
I know there are better shows to release and I know 2008 has gotten alot of releases, but to me this would be a grand idea and the perfect live trax 20. It's really the biggest "night" in DMb history in my opinion and should be released and documented by management in a special way for us fans. What other single day in DMB history comes close to the magnitude of this day. Jake, call your people, have them get ahold of capshaws people, so they can get their people to get ahold of the mastering people, and do what needs to be done, for the people. Ok, people

I agree that we have alot of 2008, but this show, with full Dave speak, no editing out the talk between songs, mastered. I think this is a must have for any DMB fan. This is "the biggest night" in the bands history. It should be released regardless of how much 2008 is already out there. In my opinion

There are a lot of '08 shows, indeed, but I agree with you OP, this would be a great release. The setlist isn't bad and it was a really emotional performance the entire night.

Maybe this show should be release apart from the Live Trax series. IDK if its realistic or not, but it would be a nice tribute to Roi.

Agree with this also I'd enjoy a release of the first show after his death as well; it would be cool for both to have a soundboard release, as a full-circle type of thing, i guess.

if theyre gonna release a show to signify LeRoi's death, they should release his last show. and they did.

If they'd like to continue to Pay tribute to Roi, release a show with him on it.

We don't need more 2008. The tape is just fine for this show and I think the rawness of it captures the emotion better.

there is no need for this show to be released. this isn't the show to commemorate Roi's passing with, LT 14 was. there is only one truly significant song on 8-19 and that is Bartender, which is already released. every other song is just like every other song they've played since. its just "after Roi".

I would also say that that Two Step was pretty significant as well.

It would've been so much better had they not released LT 13 or MHMF and instead released the Gorge run of 2008. Probably one of the best Gorge runs as a whole, had very few repeats, and it really sums up most of the 08 tour. Would've been a nice tribute to Roi too.

iTunes. $7.99 for the entire album. Unfortunately, that is one of a few that you can't buy the single track.

good and significant are not the same. Bartender is significant. Two Step is only noteworthy because of the intro, which he could have done at any time after Roi and still have it be about him. the only song that mattered on 8-19 was Bartender because it was the first song after Roi. if they opened with #41, or DDTW, or Warehouse, or even Dreamgirl, that first song that night would be significant.

Almost as emotional as Bartender from that show. From Dave's intro to Tim and Carter's solos, one of the best performances of the song IMO.

Alot of good opinions, but I disagree with management making the right call releasing Rois last show over 8-19 as the right tribute to roi. 8-19 was the tribute to roi, Dave said himself that obviously that night was a tribute to roi and that they were playing Rois favorite songs. The last show Leroi ever played in reality isn't that great of a show. It's significant because it was his last, but other than that, it's mediocre at best. Obviously you can't predict the future but had they known that was the last performance, they probably would have tried a little harder. If roi never gets hurt, that show ranks in the bottom half from that tour and you can argue it's the worst 08 show released.

Just to add to this, last year on 8-19, I listened to some roi jams from a bunch of different releases, and I listened to the 8-19 show in it's entirety. I don't think I heard a single track from his last performance. To him and the band at the time, it was just another night, and there isn't too much on that show that stands out as an incredible performance of a song

I definitely would rather have had 8-19 released rather than MHMF and Live Trax 13. There is no doubt. However, there are 4 (kind of 5) releases from the summer of '08.
