* Official Maine Thread 2023 *

I didn’t see another one and I’ve never made a thread, so apologies if I did it wrong.

Put in requests for this show as my wife’s aunt lives in the area and we were talking with her about coming to visit anyway. It also let’s us check off the “4-corners” of concerts for us.

Anyone have thoughts on the venue or Bangor? If staying downtown Bangor venue safely walkable? Ride share a thing there? Any must see or do things in the downtown area? Best brewery? If going to Acadia NP any tips/tricks?

Thanks for any advice!

The area around is safely walkable and most hotels around the venue are within walking distance. Orono Brewing's downtown location, Geaghans, and Mason's would be my three breweries to endorse - in that order.

The venue is nice, the owners have made a lot of investments. Word of caution - get there early to get in. The venue made changes to their entrance and its terrible. Everyone in reserved and lawn has to go through the same entrance with only 8 or so metal detectors. The line at an Aerosmith show last year went way down the block and we were in line for an hour to get in.

Tickets bought for show 21! Very excited. I haven't been to this venue since 2014, so it looks like there have been lots of changes. Does anyone know whether there is a walkway between the section 203 and 303? I booked row A in 303 since my wife is super short, but was reading somewhere there is no break between Sections? That seems weird to me. Thanks Lefty for the brewery tips!

Coming up from Atlanta to knock out this show. The hotel situation is pretty bleak $$$$$$. Any other suggestions for the area?

Landsharkbam, Every place near the amphitheater is safely walkable. There's a decent microbrewery restaurant, Sea Dog, a few blocks down Front Street from the amphitheater. A nice public walkway runs along the Penobscot River from the amphitheater to Sea Dog. Walk across the Union Street bridge (next to Sea Dog) and the High Tide seafood restaurant has open air seating on a big porch overlooking the river.

My four Warehouse tix were just delivered. Unexpectedly, I may have to be in Florida day. The tix are in Section 203, Row D. This is tentative but let me know if you might want to buy them at cost. Or I might even trade them for tix to the July shows in New Hampshire or Saratoga.

    Hello,
I am from Maine and couldn't find a local hotel for what I consider a reasonable price. I am staying in waterville, which is a town one hour south of Bangor. Safe travels and I hope you find a decent place to stay.

Is there any recommendations for after the show? Any place with live music or a decent vibe. We want to maybe do something for an hour or two to let the dust settle before ubering back to our hotel.

After the show, I always recommend walking downtown. All the bars will be open and it's easier to uber / cab back after all the dust settles. Side note: the venue is opening its backstage lounge up after the show for people to hang and grab a drink. Limited capacity but if you are near stage left you could get in.

I'll be heading to the show this week - first time at the venue. My bff and I are staying in Bar Harbor to make a long weekend of it (since we're commuting from the Philly area). What's the parking situation like? I saw on the venue's website that there's parking at a garage nearby - is there no parking at the venue? I just want to know what to expect I guess. I love doing new-to-me venues, but the parking situation tends to stress me out :-P

Parking-wise, there really is no venue sold parking besides the parking garage downtown. There is the Hollywood Casino garage that is close by, Shaw's the grocery store across the street does parking, and there is a ton of private lots around the venue you can park at. Most are $20 cash and go to donations.

Just a heads up for Bar Harbor if you haven't been there before, anything that you can get a reservation for do so, it's fun and a beautiful area especially with Acadia but can be very crowded

Perfect - thanks! I went with the parking garage, hopefully the walk won't be a pain in the butt. I feel like it's longer than the walk I would do at Camden when getting the far lots, so we'll see!

It has been over 10 years since I've been here - despite that, it's one of my favorite places ever. We are grabbing a bite to eat in town, doing Cadillac Mountain today because the weather is GORGEOUS, and hopefully doing a lumberjack show this weekend. We really just want to nose around town and whatnot - was looking into some excursions but the weather seems kinda iffy. We'll see!

It's super easy. Park at the casino. By the time you walk back, traffic should be fine. I hate the venue, but love the ease of leaving the venue.

And yes, it'll probably be the best show of the tour tonight.
