NJ Transit to Penn Station, then another line to Forest Hills. Super easy compared to Jones Beach if thats why you're asking about Copiague

    Forest Hills resident here. Looking forward to walking home from a DMB show for the first time. 🙂

    Not any more - several shows at the stadium went to 11pm last year. I don't expect the timing of this show to be any different than the rest of the tour.

    It's more like 5 minutes from the LIRR plus another 2 to the subway. The Google Maps route would actually put you on the opposite (and further) side from where the venue entrance is. Either way though it's EASY peasy.

    Agreed. They will check tickets outside the platform entrances each way, and if you don't have a ticket you'll have to buy right at the checkpoint and hold the line up. Mobile purchase in the MTA TrainTime app is also an option in addition to paper tickets.

    Capacity is only 1-2K smaller than Jones Beach and much larger than multiple other venues on the tour (Rogers, Southaven, and Wilmington are smaller capacity just among the stops preceding it).

    There is no street parking near the venue. The stadium is located on the grounds of a private tennis club and the surrounding neighborhood is filled with extremely pricey homes, There are some parking garages in walking distance, but capacity will be extremely limited and pricey. I would strongly encourage you to leave your car wherever you're staying in the city and take the subway or LIRR to the venue.

    There are only two trouble spots in the venue with obstructed views: the extreme side-stage sections, and the areas directly behind the lighting towers for the tennis court. Fortunately, the Warehouse has already identified both of these in the last tier of the ticket pricing, so as long as you check the box to opt out of Reserved Level 5, your seats will be just fine. The small footprint of the venue means fabulous sightlines for any unobstructed seat - even the nosebleeds are far better than their equivalents at Jones Beach, or in any arena.

    Based on the listing in the lottery system, they've opted for a small GA pit and seating for the rest of the floor, which I'm honestly surprised by. I thought it would be an easy decision for them to go all GA on the floor and pack us in.

    I've only been to one event at the stadium since COVID. Never noticed a dispensary on the grounds and it's residential homes across the street, so I'd be extremely dubious about that Google listing. There is a Curaleaf just off the main road where the majority of shops and restaurants in the immediate area are, however.

    Only if you prefer not to end up with an obstructed view seat. That's what the checkbox covers for this venue.

    Oh I certainly prefer that

    Basically my question was are there bad seats here to beware of, and you answered it. Thank you! Excited to check out the space!

    It shouldn't be too difficult. The LIRR is right by the stadium and Copiague is on the Babylon branch (which gets the most service of any branch not on the main line). You might have to change trains at Jamaica both ways, but that's relatively simple and for the trip in, we'll hit a point in the afternoon where the MTA will stop as many trains at Forest Hills as they can to accommodate concertgoers.

    I live on the Long Beach branch of the LIRR and when I went to Forest Hills to see Van Morrison last year the train which normally doesn’t stop at Forest Hills, stopped there so travelers wouldn’t have to change trains at Jamaica for the concert. I’m pretty sure they do this for other lines too. Looking forward to it!

    Great intel in your post, thanks. You think there is any big difference between taking LIRR or the subway to and from the area? Wife and I will probably get a hotel in the city for that evening.

    Depends on what hotel you book. LIRR is always going to be a faster trip; the trade-off is that it will be more costly ($5 versus $2.75 each way) and depending on where your hotel is, you might spend more time getting to Penn Station or Grand Central to get the LIRR than just taking whatever subway is nearby. The subway lines that go to Forest Hills are the E, F, M, and R.

    For anyone curious about the distance between the venue and the LIRR, you can see the station pop-up and the venue in the background in this video very clearly (coincidentally was watching it this morning to see the new Grand Central Madison): https://youtu.be/pXSm-um4oII?t=720

    I've definitely been to multiple FH shows that had floor seating, this isn't a first for the venue. Just personally surprised that the band went with that configuration because the small footprint of the venue seemed like an obvious opportunity for a full GA floor.

    You can literally buy flower in any and every smoke shop in NYC (unless you find a super lame one, which wouldn't make any sense lol) so even if there's not an actual dispensary, won't be hard to get bud at all.

    For you New Yorkers, is this a pretty standard safe area? And I don't mean like, during the day / during the show safe - I'm fine there - moreso, I have an early flight home the next morning, and it's NYC, so why not enjoy it...so am I good after the show grabbing late drinks, or hitting a diner at 2am, and then just going to the airport at 4am for an early flight / skipping a hotel room? And keep in mind I'll be by myself and not traveling in a pack.

    why do you have to not go to the city?

    milford --> Grand Central
    walk or cab to Penn Station
    PennStation --> Forest Hills

    that's not a PITA.

    Yes, it's heavily trafficked and right off a main drag. I mean, 2am is still 2am but it's not like in the middle of projects.

    This is one of the few shows that say 7PM start time, rather than 7:30. I know that people have been saying that bands don't seem to follow a 10pm curfew here, but do we think it actually will start earlier than other shows?

    They will definitely follow the curfew. It's surrounded by houses and apartments, I imagine they're very strict about the curfew.

    Fenway Park is similar, lots of apartments surrounding it. Remember when they rushed the encore on LT6?

    It's absolutely a safe area. I mentioned that the neighborhood to the south of the stadium has a lot of expensive houses, and the area to the north (on the other side of the LIRR tracks) is a major thoroughfare loaded with shops and restaurants. Most places will be closed by 1 AM, but you absolutely will be able to get a nightcap after the show.

    Most shows still do end at 10pm, but at least three big name acts (Odesza, The Lumineers, and Robert Plant & Allison Krauss) went to 11pm last year. The scheduling seems to indicate DMB will adhere to a 10pm curfew, but that's not something they have to do.
