2022 Gross & Attendance Numbers

With the Covid pandemic shutting down the concert industry, most of the sources for ticket sales and $ gross numbers dried up. Billboard only makes that info available to subscribers, and it's a very expensive subscription. But I was able to find a few of them. As the year end lists come out, more should be made available in the next few months. So here's what I was able to find.

5/11 Austin
11,154 (100% sold out)
$1,221,677

5/13- Woodlands TX
12,324 (76% sold out)
$1,032,305

5/18- Huntsville
7,243 (100%)
$784,585

6/3-4- Charleston
21,929 (90%)
$2,161,078

6/6-7- Jacksonville
10,059 (97%)
$1,237,735

Unfortunately that's all I've got for now, I'll keep digging.

Re: 2022 Gross & Attendance Numbers

So I take no credit for obtaining this information. The pandemic changed the way my former sources reported boxscores, and the info is much less available. CScottrun posted this link to all of the 2022 attendance/$ figures, save for the last 3 shows. https://touringdata.wordpress.com/20...ive-2022-tour/

Since I used to kind of be the "Tour Numbers Guy" around here, I am simply putting all of these figures in a places where everybody can find them easily, as that link will likely go cold sooner or later.

Most places are down, some quite a bit, but not terrible. Although those Alpine numbers... OOOF!

Yeah those alpine and SPAC numbers are concerning to say the least. At least the Gorge appears to be still rolling strong.

Holding back material, playing stale/bad sets more often, no fiddle, higher ticket prices, etc, etc, etc.

All these are contributing in some form to ticket sales dropping off.

Can't sell out Amps, so let's try for stadiums?

Is the SPAC number really that concerning? It's kind of a shit lawn. Most fans that have grown up with the band are willing to spend the money to fight for pavilion seats or know better than to mess with the lawn.

Agreed on Alpine, though. That's a rough stat, especially for a venue that gets a break in between stops.

It's still pretty concerning that they've dropped ~7k tickets since 2015 (which was ~44k compared to ~37K this tour).

That's not good for a destination-type venue for this band.

And, yeah, the Alpine numbers are flat bad.

I wanted to go to SPAC, couldn't get in through the warehouse and then the tickets were absolutely insane anywhere I looked, did get an offer from a fellow Ant which was very nice but the scheduling didn't work out at that time. I'm not going to pretend to know how all factors work together to make the numbers what they are but I wonder how many longtime fans were in the same boat.

... was watching some videos from SPAC N2 over the weekend and wish I had been there

Is there a more critized section of any venue in any city than SPAC Lawn? Moreso than Riverbend Lawn, and Gorge very far outside seats in 101, 103, 201, 205

IMHO SPAC tends to advertise a much higher sellout number than I think is realistic. SPAC sells out when even that upper lawn behind the sloped lawn sells out which doesnt happen often although I'm still trying to find even a pair of N1 lawn seats for the Dead & company this year - (even lawn was sold out day of ticket sale).

That Alpine percentage seems off. I was under the impression that they dont sell 35K+ for shows anymore due to the camping. That a sellout is more like 25K.

The lawn itself isn't that bad. The view lines aren't great but the screens are well placed. The sound is generally fine.

It's the people that make it just absolutely terrible. That lawn just draws an awful crowd.

To be fair DMB just draws an awful crowd it’s not just SPAC.

I haven't been to SPAC but just from pictures the lawn looks like you are standing outside the building where the concert is taking place at.

If being sandwiched between bros while staring at screens and a wall while standing on an awkward slope for hours is your thing it's awesome

I decided to go to Alpine about 3 weeks before the show last year, and easily got tickets on Ticketmaster. Rows of seats (good ones) were on sale still.

Was there on-site camping last year?

SPAC sold less seats than Creek but brought in a fair amount more money. Guessing the platinums that flew off the TM map.

Since I used to kind of be the "Tour Numbers Guy" around here, I am simply putting all of these figures in a places where everybody can find them easily, as that link will likely go cold sooner or later.

Most places are down, some quite a bit, but not terrible. Although those Alpine numbers... OOOF!

This is why they will play Chicago over alpine, or at least switch it up. The United center in Chicago sold extremely well during fall tour for a Tuesday…..

Alpine is too remote for the casual fans in Chicago.

In alpines defense, it’s huge - I thought their capacity was closer to 42k back in the day with a full lawn.

I really liked the venue in Jax. It was small, somewhat intimate and it was full. I would gladly take that place over WPB and I live 35 minutes from WPB.

The markets with over 70 percent should stay.

Hartford shouldn't happen anymore, it doesn't draw.

Alpine shouldn't happen anymore either. Notherly sells more tickets and this is a business

They only did camping for DMB the one year. Attendance has definitely been down there.

Hartford’s lawn is huge and the weather was absolute shit last year. Rain and like 35/40 degrees. That teen “party” crowd ain’t coming out for that. Hartford has been a steady decline for awhile now though hence getting cut down to 1 night rather than a 2 night stand.
