In 2016, when it was announced, they had a video on FB of Chris Bellman running the 1/4" tape and the lacquer being cut, so it was definitely AAA without a digital capture step.

I can't remember if this was the case with Crash (in fact, I don't think it was) but Phish was providing download codes with the remastered releases of their studio work and was the vinyl rip.

Well, whether they use the analog source tapes and have no digital process, or they cut from a hi-res digital copy, or anything between; they're all "remastered".
There are some rumblings that the master tapes are either damaged, destroyed, or lost for BTCS - which is the current delay. No idea how true/close to the truth that is, though.
And that wouldn't necessarily prevent a remastered release or even an all analog remaster - they could potentially use a safety copy/2nd gen tapes (if they exist and are in good shape).
Hopefully we're not far off from finding out.
