These early Peter shows are a lot more mellow. I really like the slower, jazzier sound of DMB back then. Dave's voice is a bit different and can be kind of annoying at first (it's quite nasally), but overall, the music sounds great.

If you haven't listened yet, check out the 1992 DMBLive from Trax:

That Best of What's Around alone is worth the purchase.

Yup... pre-94 should be it's own era I think. DMB0.5 maybe?

They did a lot of stuff musically that was interesting back then, but I still can't get used to Dave's voice.

Thanks!! Definitely will check this out. Just listened to the preview of BOWA, and just by that alone, it's crazy how different it is.

This is a must buy for me. Very excited for a multi-track of a '92 show with Griesar and Spotlight.

Griesar on Lover Lay Down is amazing. Im still on the fence with this one though. Was hoping for a 02-03 release.

There's so much to be interested about with this release....first multi-track, Grieser (keys, plus harmonica on WWYS), Spotlight, etc. Def buying. Good job management...glad we didn't get another 3.0 release or mid-90's. Would have preferred '98, but I'll take it.

I'm so excited for this release! I love the raw sound of early DMB. As a musician, it's inspiring for me to hear the band in its humble beginnings. I remember listening to '92/'93 shows constantly as a freshman in high school and trying to mimic the sound on the first recordings I made.

He's saying watch it happen this year after it was pointed out that for this release it was mentioned Spotlight was retired.
