    Touch Me by the Doors.

Jeff and Big Shaun would crush the horns and you know Dave would have fun with the lyrics.

Somehow the crowd manages to stay awake during Proudest Monkey, so I don't see how they couldn't handle this.

What Is Life would be a great cover if they base it off the instrumental version with the trumpets and saxophone:

White Room by Cream. Old enough for them to cover and Tim would give it that little extra, turning it into a nice surprise cover.

Couple of half serious suggestions that would actually be great....Quite a few more completely serious suggestions that would positively suck.

    Interesting thread.

I would enjoy very much a white room cover..

I agree though that something popular is key in doing covers... My vote is Rolling Stones- Can't you hear me knocking... They could jam the hell out of this song

    I agree.

If anything I wouldn't mind them bringing back some old cover songs like Me & Julio, For the Beauty of Wynona,, or some D+T covers with their own full band arrangements, i.e. If I Had A Boat, Is Chicago Is Not Chicago (an improved arrangement from the full band version)

Any of that would be a pleasant surprise for me

Okay, some serious songs. I seriously would love to hear one or two Zappa songs (like Montana, Cosmic Debris or Inca Roads) , but it won't happen. So I have to go for Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here or Comfortly Numb by Floyd. But let's see what they'll do....

This would be so ripe to cover and jam out! Great bass and brass. If the band isn't going to play anymore new songs, we should campaign for a cool cover song. The bass line on this song would make fonz drool. I'd love to hear rashawn and jeff tear it up. I think it would just be perfect.

    Re: Live Cover Song Ideas

Every time I listen to Long Black Veil from Charlottesville when Tim plays his riffs at the end I always imagine how awesome it would be for Midnight Rider by the Allman Brothers to come in.

Right in around 3:13 have on this video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErkOH...eature=related

    have that jam segue into
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7A2acBVENA

Feel like it would be the coolest thing ever. Carter and Tim could blow this song away. And i think those higher notes from the electric guitar would make for a good horn section.

I've thought about this a lot haha

On a different note as big of a fan as Dave is of Radiohead I'm surprised he's never touched any of it.

Not the same style I suppose.
