Dave "demanding" more out of Boyd is completely fair. Boyd has been complacent. No way around it. But so has Dave. He needs to hold himself to higher standards than he does the rest of his band. It's unfair to throw Boyd under the bus while simultaneously playing stale, shitty setlist night after night. Or writing less-than-inspired lyrics album after album.
I'm the last one to defend Boyd. I totally get where Dave is coming from in all this. You could just see it on stage. But let's not pretend like Dave has been really great the last decade either.
