Wife needed new tires so I had to make the appointment at blah o clock (much earlier than I’d like on a day off) since one can’t do anything without an appointment now. But that went surprisingly smooth. The annoying “adulting” part is that as I was getting back into the car, I realized her registration sticker expired 18 months ago lmao. And in Texas u have to have state inspection within 90 days of renewal of registration. So getting oil changed/state inspection done now. Then I get to go to the tax office to pay my wife’s late fees and get an inspection sticker. Anyone have a legit, made up idea for an “extenuating circumstance” that might help get the late fees waived?

I got pulled over last summer for an expired tag a month after my birthday... but it had expired in May of 2020 I count on the state to send me the renewal notices which I guess is my fault but I didn't understand why they didn't have my current address. I definitely chalked that up to the pandemic too since May of 2020 there were other things on my mind. But it didn't get me out of paying the fine and late fee.

My wife also didn't get a renewal notice for her tabs this year. I only noticed because I happened to be following her on the way to drop her car off for an oil change. It was about 2 months expired. However, it was the first renewal for the car since we just bought it new last year. Something probably got screwed up at the DMV for us not getting the renewal notice.

Has anyone been in between living situations for like a month and a half at most? If so, how did you handle the change of address? Did you just get a PO box until you moved into the permanent situation?

Thank you! Didn't realize I could do temporary change of address.

Moving in with a buddy for a month or so while he tries to finalize the purchase of a townhouse/condo and if he can't find something by the end of the lease on his apartment in mid-june, we're just going to get an apartment together.

The in-between couple months was giving me lots of anxiety on how to handle changing my address and then changing again once we get the real place.

just got an email reminder last night that mine will be expiring soon. I wish it wasn't like 2 months before my birthday but it should do

Does getting progressive lenses count as grown-up type stuff?

    Asking for a friend.
