watching that Tripping Billies, Dave playing guitar just blows my mind. That guitar piece is all over the place, and yet he plays it so consistent and controlled.

    Re: MTV Crashing the Quarter

I remastered my copy of this for youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2eYZ8Tcrlw

This is the video that really hooked me back in the 90s so decided to put it up despite it being pro. Don't want to tag it w/ the MTV title so wanted to post a heads up....

Uploaded a ton of other shit to that channel the last couple weeks......all touched up in one way or another (see headers)....

Would love to see this whole show released as a DVD / CD bundle with royalties going to MTV to fund them actually playing music again.

Just referenced this show in the way to Fest yesterday. The people I was talking to were there in 96. Lucky!

I totally understand why people think today's version of the band sounds as good as they did back then.

Watching this is probably the last thing I should have done before the start of this 2019 summer tour...the band was straight fire back then. Everything changes with time though...just sad.

What do you mean? People say they sound just as good or better today than they did then. If you think they were better back then you aren't a real fan of this band.

That does get tossed around a lot here and other places on the internet, but I think if you prefer today's sound over this...then you are not a real fan of this band.

So if I prefer the way they sounded then WITH a violin and Roi being in the band then I’m not a real fan, ok, I got it. So I’m not a fan because the way they sounded better back then and that’s what I fell in love with. 19 years over a 100 shows and countless amounts of cash spent on this band, I still go but they’re great but not like they used to be but hey things change, sounds change and I accepted that when I went to see them last year. I mean not everyone likes what the band has done that doesn’t make them not fans of the band as you’d say, it’s called having your own opinion.

It's amazing that people actually think this. If you like DMB songs, you're a fan of DMB. Get off your high horse.

I can see your point...but the modern versus "classic" is so far removed from one another. All I'm saying is if you like today's sound over that of the 90s to early 2000s then you dont really know this band...because they sound a lot different.

It would be like a Yes fan taking a liking to their 80s albums and saying it's better than their early stuff...when in reality what they are hearing now is nothing like that of old.

says who? Enjoy what you like and don't be so fast to pass judgement on people who like different things. We're going to hit a point where the 2008-present "Rock" version of DMB will be in existence longer than the 1991-2007 version of DMB. I usually prefer to listen to newer shows because that's the band that I can actually go see and enjoy today. I switch back to the older sound some days, but idk, that band is dead and never coming back. The recordings are a nice time capsule, and I like them, but my preferences change. You are not the judge and jury of what makes a DMB fan.

What if they revisit this theme for a new tour? Call it Crash into "whatever city they are playing" AND they play Crash in it's entirety?
