I had the same thought yesterday, but you're right, it's not going to happen.

There's a discussion on twitter right now. Better job: LSU or Notre Dame.

    What say you?

LSU. At Notre Dame you don't run the school like at other big time programs. There's a little more politics because of how religious the school is and what not. Not to mention the academic standards at Notre Dame are a bit more rigorous than other P5 schools.

What Notre Dame has going for them is the schedule year in and year out easpecially this year with Southern Cal being down. LSU is in the toughest division in the country while ND sometimes will dodge the best teams in the ACC. They never have an easy schedule with Stanford and MSU, but I'd rather have their schedule.

ND and Southern Cal are becoming pre-historic unless something changes. Both are headed for the cellar this season. Brian Kelly can coach, but hiring BVG was a head scratcher. I believe he would do just fine at LSU or anywhere else.

Not that south bend is much nicer but it's got to be a nice place the baton rouge.

And it's freaking nd. The golden dome, the touchdown Jesus, 11 national championships, play like a champion today. ND is very appealing.

Apparently BK is the 68 highest paid head coach. Behind syracuse and Rutgers wtf? That doesn't sound correct.

Only reason I'd coach for ND over LSU is freedom/ease of scheduling. Right now any head coaching job in the SEC West is a nightmare because of Nick Saban, but I'd still take that over Indiana.

Charley Weis was still getting paid by ND up until last year. He was also getting payed by Kansas after they fired him. Thats what happens with dumb contracts. I Think ND signed him to a 10 year deal. And Kansas was dumb for even hireing him at all.

It was appealing 10-20 years ago. Recruits today were born 10 years after their last national championship.

Yea that means nothing when discussing ND. And at no point since their last NC has ND been irrelevant. Year in and year out they're putting kids in the league and are all over the media.

There is no lost allure of Notre Dame.

Eh, thats debatable. On a prestige level, youre right. But there is ALOT more at play. One would think its easier to give underhanded benefits to players at a school like LSU, you have the benefit of pitching to kids they will play in the SEC, and you have a more natural recruiting base at your fingertips etc. Both coaches have to hear from donors, but just from an outsider's perspective, I think things are fairly more lax at LSU than ND.

I can't imagine LSU having the same academic standards as ND either, seems like it would be easier to get "football" kids.

Just an opinion, like the academic standards, im sure many in the ND camp hold themselves to a higher standard.
