Cover Art for 4.02.93

Has anyone made or perhaps know where I can find it? This is one of my favorite shows, but some cover art would make it that much better.

sure thing

torrents are a kind of file. by downloading the torrent files, you get the music to your computer. you download them via a client. the best is utorrent if you're on a PC and transmission if you're on a mac (in my opinion).
you click download torrent and follow the simple directions (click OK, or something like that). You'll see a download bar in the client. You'll see a download speed. Don't be worried if this is small. It's taken me weeks to download files. This one should be pretty fast if you have a good connection though. You'll also see your upload speed. This is how quickly you are uploading, as you download.
Once you're done, you'll see that it says seeding. at this point, your files are all done downloading. However, you should keep the transfer open as a courtesy, because it speeds up the download for others; (your download was fast because others seeded for you).

but first things first, you need to download a program to open the torrent files.

it took me a while to understand at first, and i still don't get every technical nuance. if you have any issues, i could try to help, but there's a whole board of people helping with torrents here on ants, who are surely more helpful than i could be.

A client - a bit torrent program. I prefer bittorrent.com -- it's a free program.

Once you open the torrent (via dreamingtree.org), that file opens into the torrent program (and downloads the audio files).

Like when you open a PDF, you use adobe.
when you open a torrent, you use a torrent client
download one of these:
http://www.bittorrent.com/
http://www.utorrent.com/

Then, when you click the download button at dreaming tree, that is the default program it will use to open it. If you don't have the program (bittorrent, utorrent, etc) you will have no way to access the file and get your music!

ok I have a mac. I dont know if that makes a difference. I am looking at the torrent threads to help me too. haha i am slow with computers... obviously. But ok, so if i go to bittorrent.com and get whatever is there I can download torrents from dreamingtree? I am going to try that rigghhht now.

i once had a pc and used utorrent. now i have a mac, and much prefer transmission. but good choice on a mac

you first download a program at bittorrent or whatever, then never again need to download it. that program is on your computer, so you can then download as many torrents as you desire

oh and be warned... it'll download in a format called FLAC (sometimes SHN for older shows). It won't play in itunes. But worry about that later. First, download the file

Got it. It is saved on my desktop and it's FLAC and I downloaded bittorrent or whatever. Right so far...?

you already got the program, then the torrent?

if you have the torrent file, you have the music on your computer!

In order to play it, you can either play it as is or convert it. FLAC is a very high quality file type. Some people can hear the difference between it and your average mp3 (I can't). If you want to play it as is, I would suggest VLC media player. If you want to convert to an mp3, there are many programs to do that. the FLAC will be big. Average of about a gigabyte per show. That adds up if you download lots of shows. But if you convert to mp3, you can only use that for personal use and is kind of frowned upon. But if you're just downloading for your own personal use, you can download to mp3, play it in itunes, put it on your ipod, etc.

Whoa okay I think I got it. I double clicked on the file and it said choose application and I chose bittorrent and now it is downloading, I think. It says time remaining: 1 day 4 hours. Is that normal? and nothing is happening. How do I know if its downloading?

nope that sounds about right. it won't actually be that long. is it moving yet? if not, you might want to try a different client.
