I liked the different personalities they brought out with those specific actors. Definitely different than the original, but stellar indeed. I saw the chicago one on 4/21

    It was average.

I actually thought the orchestra wasn't great and I like my Evita to be cold and calculating, not sassy and flip.

Dear Evan Hansen did well at the Tonys. Honestly, I'm rather surprised that Great Comet didn't win more. But, hey, so happy for DEH!!!

I'm on the verge of spending about 600 bucks on two Dear Evan Hansen tickets for my wife's 30th. She's been obsessing over it for months now and if she doesn't see it before the original cast leaves, I'm a dead man. That being said, I also want to see it.

Do it. Well worth the money. Premium tickets, based on the price?

drive to Jersey City, there's a garage at the journal square PATH station that is max $14 for the day. PATH round trip into the city is $5.50. Or you can drive to Lyndhurst, NJ. there's a NJ transit train station there with a free parking lot. NJ transit from that station to Hoboken, then hop on the PATH. The roundtrip cost for both trains (NJ transit and PATH) would be about $12, if I remember correctly. Depending on the vehicle you have, fuel would be about $30 roundtrip (at least that's what it was for me when I used to drive that route). Ticket price would be variable, but everything's relative to one's situation. Hopefully, you're able to see it!

Secondary market. I can't find anything below about 275 a ticket and that's in the mezzanine bought the day before the show. Is there some place else I should be looking?

honestly, since they killed it at the Tonys, that'll probably be the best you can get. Just hope that they're legit tickets! I imagine they would be, as it's nowhere near the hype that was Hamilton, but hey people can be dicks

I really fucked up not getting tickets before the Tony's but a.) they still weren't that cheap and b.) we were smack dab in the middle of signing mortgage papers so a 600 dollar purchase probably wasn't gonna look too great. Not that it will now, but I will literally be divorced if she doesn't see this show.

I'm in CT but the southern parts... about 45 mins from Manhattan. Out of curiosity, where do you look for tickets? Right now I'm checking StubHub daily, Craigslist with a ton of apprehension and entering the lottery every morning.

I live in Manhattan, so craigslist mostly. FB groups. Cancellation line. Believe it or not, sometimes tickets drop the night before on telecharge.

I've heard about drops the night before but that's impossible for me to pull off with both of our jobs. I almost got scammed on CL. There's a guy posting that he has tickets for 200 each for pretty much every night. I got in touch with him, barely spoke English, couldn't provide a picture of the tickets and suddenly wanted me to use Western Union instead of PayPal.

But yea, if you come across any I'd be extremely grateful.

yeah, keep checking telecharge. when i did standing room, i lined up i think at 3am and was second in line (went into work late). that was in February so I'm not sure what the rush line and subsequent cancellation line is up to nowadays. but, yes, i'll keep you posted.

    (standing room was $42...siiiiiick)

EDIT check broadwayworld forums, too. can sometimes get lucky there

Finally saw Sound of Music. They brought it to the Orpheum in Memphis. It was fantastic!
