Blackjack rocks. until AFTW came out it was the most musically interesting thing they've done since Busted Stuff (I would say the Lillywhites, but I have to give YNK some recognition).

I began listening to DMB through a guy in my church youth group, right as Big Whiskey came out. This was the first album of theirs I listened to. I was immediately in love with the sound of this music and the sheer uniqueness of it. Since then, I've listened to almost every album that the band put out. There is pretty much no album that I just hate. Each one is so different and makes the band's sound even more dynamic. If every album was the same, then we would all be bored by now. I listen to DMB EVERY DAY. There is a song or songS for every emotion or feeling I have, which is why they are essential to my life, and will continue to be. As I sit here watching the AFTW DVD, I only hope this band never stops creating magic.

Yes! If it had solid lyrics, it could be a great song. The music is definitely there.

Not getting the Drunken Soldier love...I've been trying so hard to get into this tune but can't. Except for the end. I love the "that's not a star, that's a satellite" part. I could sit and listen to that part over and over again. Aside from that, I'm not getting what's so great about it. The lyrics are probably the worst on the album, the music is alright but nothing fantastic. I think Mercy is a way better song than this.

And Shotgun...WAY overrated.

I had the hardest time liking this song. With the anticipation of this song from the people who got to listen to it first, I was unimpressed with the first couple listens. It has grown on me since, but nowhere near the "epic" level.

Drunken Solider and You Never Know are similar songs in that they were both several different pieces blended together to make one song. you Never Know was a great end result, but Drunken Soldier is too blantantly all over the place. I do like the hors a lot though in this song.

For me, ED is amazing, and I really enjoy listening through SU.

Among my bottom 10 are:
-IBYU
-Cry Freedom
-Dive In
I've never 'got' these songs, don't know why!

And I am not a huge fan of the new Carter, bashing as fast and as loud as he can. Somebody put it more eloquently up there ^^^^

I think that my reception of DMB suffered from being on these boards, overanalyzing, set-list watching. It got difficult to enjoy new music.

Plus my user name kind of sucks :-)

Everybody Wake Up should be played more often.

LITHOG should be a 5 minute song, max.

Tripping Billies should be played at EVERY show early in the setlist to get Boyd involved. When Boyd's on fire, the band is on fire.

Can't Stop should stop, and never come back.
