Agree on both for the most part. They are not Apatow flicks though. I actually think Sarah Marshall is close to them. Might put it over them because of Mila.

I don't get the overwhelming appeal of The Hangover. Stu spent the entire movie yelling/constantly screaming about everything and once you heard one Alan joke, you heard them all

I like The Hangover, but I find it a bit overrated. I actually the like 2nd one better (which everyone hates) so what do I know.

Off these Apatow/Apatow-related movies, I really love all of them except for Funny People.

They've been running Get Him To The Greek on HBO a bunch lately, Diddy is absolute gold in that movie.

I mentioned it in the MCU thread, but I legit hated the 3rd act. Capt Marvel is the worst character in the movie, and I cannot believe Brie Larson won an Oscar. Other than that it was fine.

I can’t think on many movies I watched in the theatre that made me laugh as much as my first viewing of hangover did.

Probably haven't watched it since the year it was released. That basement scene...

I bought the Director's Cut on BD a while ago. I should watch that soon.

I think Superbad is still the funniest movie I've ever seen in a theater. It helped that one of my friends in our group that was there snorts when she laughs, so I was laughing almost as hard at her laughing as I was at the movie.

I still think that movie is hilarious and I watch it at least once a year.

Agreed, I find myself watching it every time I run across it on TV. Still tons of LOL's despite having seen it countless times.

    Bull Durham

I enjoyed this enough for what it was. It feels dated and is somewhat of an artifact for what R-rated movies used to be. Rough language, steamy sex scenes, and suggestive banter.

That said, the entire love triangle is very far fetch and feels like a grocery store sex novel or something of the like.

The comedy is what kept me engaged throughout.

I think I'll give Layer Cake a spin tonight.

I saw 40 Year Old Virgin with a college roommate who was still a virgin at the time. That might be the hardest I've ever laughed during a movie.

Our Idiot Brother (2011) with Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones, Elizabeth Banks, and others. Good cast.

Really liked this movie. Had never heard of it somehow honestly, I guess it was mixed reviews. I really enjoyed it, a good Friday night w the wife movie.

late on the Apatow talk but I just listened to the FSM podcast the other day. It's incredible how well that move holds up. I could have done without pretty much all of the McBrayer scenes, but the rest of it is great. Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill steal every scene

    for me it's probably
    FSM
    Virgin
    Superbad

Saw The Hangover twice in theaters, maybe thrice. I just remember being floored by it. It is up there with The Dark Knight as far as some of my most memorable theater experiences.

Has anyone called her "Fancy Cheese Larson"?

I feel like that wont catch on, but it feels immature enough, and it made me smile briefly with a very short chuckle earlier today.

Captain Marvel - I really enjoyed this as an orgin story, I had low expectations so that probably helped. Brie wasn’t very strong, as a lead. Maybe it was just her story that was harming her, because I will say I felt better about her towards the end. Overall, I had fun and will definitely see it again. 7/10
