This could break the record for the most times a movie audience hears the word cunt in a two hour period.

Oh my god that would be the most insane thing...I'm not gonna get my hopes up but the guy that tweeted that played 2 big roles (jack McCall and Francis Walcott) so it's not like it's just some random guy.

I've watched a lot of tv shows and deadwood is my favorite by a pretty wide margin. It just doesn't get better than that. A movie would be the greatest thing that ever happened. All of the main cast are still alive and I don't think Milch's career has quite taken off the way he envisioned after deadwood ended, so why the hell not continue the thing he's most known for?

We know that the movie would have to center around the fire that destroyed deadwood, right?

I think Milch hinted at that as the end game for the series, so it would make sense to center the movie around it.

It would also make sense, too, for the age of the actors/actresses because I think the fire came about a decade after the series was set.

I realize I'm over a decade late to the party but I just binged all 3 seasons of this once GoT ended. Holy shit what an incredible series! Unbelievable story lines and the characters, omfg!! But wtf was up with that finale? Holy shit was that an anti-climactic end to a riveting 3 seasons. The finale felt like just another episode. It could've just as easily been stuck in as episode 3 or 4 as it was ep 12. I have to believe they had no idea that was the end when they finished season 3. I know there's been rumors off and on for a long time now about a movie to wrap up all the loose ends but if it was going to happen you'd think it would've happened by now. It's a shame how such a good show has been left for so long with no closure.

They didn't know it would be the end, ya meatball.

Ian McShane is perfect for that role. same character less evil in John Wick too.

I started watching this last night to hopefully binge it in time for the movie. I've been putting off until I knew when the movie was coming out and just saw it the other day. I have to say I'm loving it so far.

I let my excitement get the best of me and watched it, but generally, I hate trailers, too.

I was not joking in the GoT thread a few weeks back when I said I was more excited about this than I am the end of GoT.

But like 1/20 the amount of people are/were into Deadwood.

    Woohoo!

    1. Do you think we will get any resolution about the S3 theater troupe story line?

    2. Do you care if we don't?

My answers and 1) I doubt it and 2) It would be nice to know why we spent so much time with those characters and what it was building toward, so, yes?

Just started watching the show over the last few weeks...it kind of reminds me of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, in its presentation of the brutality of man during the 1800s. Expanding frontier, natives viewed as expendable and the enemy, graphic violence, old school bigotry (not too far off from what's returned today), xenophobia, and more.

Half-way through season two. Guardedly enjoying and looking forward to more, but I might not make it through. Hate that Garret Dillahunt played two characters and they're not even acting like the two characters look alike...Walcutt is the type of character that makes me stop watching shows and movies.
