I go back and forth between Number and Piece of Mind as my favorite. Where Eagles Dare is one of the best openers ever.

These guys are hilarious live. Unfortunately Howard left the band this year. Jesse Leach (vocalist on Alive or Just Breathing) came back though so that's a plus

Number is great obviously, I think Powerslave gets just as much play for me...Piece of Mind less so.

I've seen most of them and have the rest on DVR. He does an excellent job covering each genre. This would be a good series for any young person who likes metal to learn the history and the bands from the last 40 years.

Mercyful Fate... And it wasn't close. I think the panel was 4-2... But the audience was like 100% MF! I really can't decide. There's songs from both that I find incredible.

That's what most people think, I'm in the minority, I think KD is better. There's really not a KD album that I don't love, but there's some MF albums that I think are just okay.

I like Pantera, and it was a good song...but that video is god awful.

EDIT: On a unrelated note just finished the Metal Evolution series, you guys were right, great stuff! I had no idea that thrash got its start in tape trading, sounds familiar. Also LOVED the episode on shock rock!

I actually really loved that opening riff and I really dug the breakdown that started at 1:35 and the short solo type riff that came after it, and that cool acoustic type break down that happens in the middle, but the vocals are so devoid of any melody its hard to enjoy it to be honest.

But I watched a guitar only cover of it, and man I love those runs! I might have to check out more of their music, and just put up with the vocals.

Yeah, the song is decent... But I can see why they left it off VDOP. The video is kind of silly... They asked fans to just send in videos of themselves thrashing/headbanging. Apparently they didn't get enough of those cuz they still did some of it on a set somewhere.

Anybody going to see any metal shows in the future? I'm still debating on a few for this summer.
