Absolutely.

That said, I don't expect it to be the greatest DMB song (or even close to it) ever either.

MacHead will never live up to the hype. Its only saving grace is that it was written during the BTCS era when DMB was still cranking out great songs, so it's probably better than decent.

How it could ever be better than The Dreaming Tree, The Stone, Pig or The Last Stop would be quite a testament to the band and their abilities.

MacHead will never live up tot he hype. I remember reading a post where Jake or someone life that finally heard it, and IIRC they said it was interesting and could hear the roots of some other songs (paraphrasing) but that it wasn't an opus.

My memory was compiling that article with other lying SOBs before Jake actually heard it. Wow, was that 7 years ago?!

There weren't as many songs that were deemed fit for release as you'd think. Most were pretty unfinished. We would enjoy hearing raw, unfinished cuts of songs, but idt they want to release that stuff right now.

One can probably venture a guess that Don't Burn The Pig, Help Myself, Deed is Done, #36, and #40 were at the very least recorded in a bare-bones form. Maybe even Get In Line and another pass at Granny too. Bummer they didn't feel like putting any of them out.

Hope stuff actually gets put out with BTCS, even if it's just stuff like the original version of Halloween (before strings) recorded for the Scream soundtrack (then they gave them Help Myself instead) and alternate takes or longer versions of the jams. Of course Machead and anything else that didn't make the album would be great to hear.

Anyone got an "insider" update this reissue?

Figured it would coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release date in late April but obviously no dice there. Still hoping by the end of the year...

This is why people hate DMB fans. Talking out of your ass like you have insider info. Super vague and you get bent out of shape if someone dare question you.

So where is the reissue, big guy? Looks like you struck out. BIG TIME.

Doby wasn't talking out of his ass. But things change. Direct your anger at those who make decisions, not the people just trying to relay what they can.

Yikes, well, you're wrong, so just stop.

Doby has more than just "insider info" about things. Pretty awesome things.

Everyone that had any sort of information on this were made to look wrong because it just disappeared and nothing happened. I'm not sure why you came in swinging like that, but you're the one talking out of your ass.

doby and others weren't wrong but were made to look that way. it sucks, but that's not their fault.

however, now that we sit in 2020, can those insiders let us know if there's any hope for this project, or has it been shelved forever? if you don't know, that's fine too, just trying to pass the time.

Another typical DMB twat. You guys make it so hard to be a fan. I hate being associated with people like you.

Anyone with a brain could have said that BTCS will be re-released in "18-20 month" from mid 2016. Dude is a joke and so are you.

It's like, have some humility. You're not cool. You're not special . It's a freaking record for god's sake.

You guys are so eager to on-up each other on "secret" DMB news. You never elaborate, and you never take you pills when you're wrong.

    It's call immaturity.

Lol sure he does. That's why we have a reissue BTCS, right? I don't care if people get things wrong. But i care when peopel don't own up to it and act like it's no big deal.

Keep stroking him though. It's all good.

Hey, here's some inside info: BTCS will be re-released sometime within the next 24-26 months. You heard it here first!

Sorry man. How was he "not wrong," lol? That's what i'm talking about. Dude was snide, condescending and a total choad. Reprimanding people who spend "$200" and nonchalantly stating the "obvious" that it would DEFINITELY be repressed. But it wasn't. And here you are, still standing up for the dude. I have low tolerance for these type people as they are self-serving .

It's ok, he was wrong. Let's acknowledge that he's a joker and doesn't have the kind of info you think he does. He probably works at FYI and saw it on an order form or something.

Re: Before These Crowded Streets Vinyl

By the way I heard about a BTCS vinyl being released alongside a vinyl release of DMBLive 11.30.1998. Now obviously, BTCS vinyl disappeared, but the DMBlive vinyl was eventually released, so no one's really making up anything. Plans change, things get shuffled around. LT 50 was supposed to be Red Rocks 98. This is why people don't like jumping the gun and giving their sources.

Quarantine freak outs are becoming more common.

Seems like this would also be a great companion to a BTCS release

It's ok, he was wrong. Let's acknowledge that he's a joker and doesn't have the kind of info you think he does. He probably works at FYI and saw it on an order form or something.
    1) He never reprimanded people who decided to shell out some cash for the '98 pressing. He advised against it, but there is nothing wrong with purchasing it.

    2) While he did say it would "rest assured" be repressed, this was in 2016. Things change, especially when we're 3 years removed from that post.

    3) Don't fucking diss on Doby. He has more insider info here then arguably anyone.

    4) Don't worry, quarantine isn't going to last forever
