Re: ***Official D&T Sound on Sound - September 25, 2022***

I bought a reserved parking pass. Do I need to get there right as lots open or could I get there later in the day without having to worry about parking being full? Hopefully that question makes sense lol.

It's sorta wild to me how inactive this thread is considering the festival is this weekend. I have family in both Fairfield and Milford and I warned them that 30,000 music fans are arriving this weekend.

Definitely would love to hear how peoples day 1 went only going Sunday myself. Apparently from facebook festival page comments lines are long for food and VIP fans seem upset they can't have chairs in VIP.

Oh it’s so much worse, as the Facebook comments will attest. Wife & I were excited to see Dave tomorrow but we bailed after 3 hours today and aren’t going back.

We paid for GA Plus which is an absolute ripoff. Tiny roped off area with no view of the stage, just a crappy monitor with bad sound. The area in front of the stage is way too small and it’s very difficult to navigate through the cramped lines of people. Speaking of lines, hour minimum for food or booze and they are running out of everything. Even beer. They ran out of beer on day 1 of a 2 day music festival. At least one water refill station is not functioning.

We got in at 3:30 and it was filling up fast. Only decent spot for our blanket was way out in the perimeter where the sound sucks. People set up in the grass closer to the stage were getting trampled. We left at 6:30 with a slight trickle of people but now they are streaming out of there. VIP people who spent hundreds to thousands for a premium experience are furious because even their experience was the same.

Yikes, #soundonsound on Twitter is not pretty. Comparisons to Fyre Fest & Woodstock ‘99. The lack of space is becoming a safety hazard. Sound sucks, porto-potties disgusting, impossible to get food & drinks. People leaving in droves.

Assuming this still goes ahead tomorrow, you folks sticking it out for Dave might get rewarded with a much smaller crowd and hopefully better experience. Just brace yourself for 2+ hours getting out, and you’ll know why once you see the few routes out of there.

Hopefully they can fix some of this before tomorrow, or I don’t know how it goes on.

Re: ***Official D&T Sound on Sound - September 25, 2022***

Just got back to the hotel and we’re SO lucky to be back before midnight. The traffic getting out was unbelievable with everyone driving over curbs, merging any way possible, frustrations showing from a long day boiling over. The festival was super packed, zero clear pathways from one end to another and where were the water stations? Trash cans? Trash all over the ground. They ran out of food and beer, with lines longer than an hour. Portopotties ran out of toilet paper and the lines to use them went so far back, they ran out of room and snaked back on themselves. The sound for Band of Horses was a muffled, bass heavy disaster and they couldn’t get it right for Zach Bryan so badly that he cut his set twenty minutes early. The no chairs thing was also a big fail for many. I mean, the lineup is spectacular and the performers did well today but that’s about all the positives I have to say about it. I’m dreading tomorrow because Dave and Tim are the final act so we can’t dip out early. Aye carumba.

Parking at the venue was sold out, we got the parking at the amphitheater down the street. Was pretty good too be honest. There was too many people at the show though, took at least an hour to pee and get a drink, once 5 o'clock hit it wasn't even worth trying for food without missing a whole set. Also very curious why they don't pump the sound from one stage through the pa of the other stage while they are setting up. Pretty great day overall though, had fun and can't wait for tomorrow

Agreed there’s no way they cancel today, though it would be the humane thing to do. From reading #soundonsound on Twitter, looks like it got even worse for those who stayed. The Fyre Fest & Woodstock ‘99 comparisons are a little much though. We didn’t feel unsafe, it was just a shitty time. Maybe we’d tough it out on our blanket way, way back from the stage but the sound was awful. Our view was a miserable line of people waiting an hour for beer that they ran out of.

Thousands of people are going to skip that experience a second day, so hopefully today isn’t as bad. I know the Dave diehards are going no matter what, and I hope you all have a good time. My wife and I wish we could be there for what the event was advertised to be. We drove up from Georgia.

After yesterday, you could not pay me to return
This was a total cash grab. Lines? Hour +, bathrooms? Ran out of tp and sanitizer, sound? Zack Bryan blew out a speaker and was limited to 3 songs
    Cell service / Wi-Fi? Nonexistent
We left after CAAMP, walked back to our car, moved our car as close to the venue as possible, drank our own beer and left after hearing the lumineers set. I don’t care how big of a fan your are, I would NOT go today. I promise it’s not worth it

If I could sell them I would. Shitty to say, but I’m hoping the rain + experience of yesterday keeps enough people away. Maybe the adjustments they posted about actually make a difference, but doesn’t seem likely.

Get there just before Dave to avoid as much of the pain as possible, eat & drink before getting in, and don’t use the porto potties. Bring a rain jacket. Accept the fact that getting out is going to take a really long time. Practice gratitude and reflect on how much suffering there is in the world, yet your only challenge today is a poorly run music festival.

Appreciate everyone's feeback and advice from yesterday. I am going today and will be getting in 5 or 6 hours before Dave and Tim take the stage.

My Dave and Tim Farm aid post show stream last night turned into a Sound on Sound Fyre on the Festival Mountain stream as people started texting me and tagging me on twitter about how bad yesterday was

Railbird last year, only went to Day 2 with DMB, but Day 1 had horrible feedback mostly due to no water available and long lines. Day 2 turned out great; there was free water bottles everywhere, I mean everywhere. Hopefully this fest can also make corrections overnight for the folks going today.

This sounds like such a nightmare. Have several friends there and none of them are going back for Day 2.

The one complaint I don't really get is the WiFi/Cell thing. Is that a normal thing to have at festivals? I've been to ACL 12+ times. There's no WiFi and once the festival fills up, there's no cell service either. It's not a big deal.
