I wonder if she was texting or something and just didn't see them. They were coming from across the street, across her lane to the bus, not coming from behind the bus so there was nothing really blocking her view of the kids. Even if she didn't want to stop for the bus stop sign, how did she not at least SEE the fucking kids in the road.

In central Pennsylvania, authorities reported that a driver hit a 7-year-old Franklin Township boy Thursday morning as he waited at the bus stop. The driver did not stop to help him, state police told CNN affiliates WTAJ and WJAC.

"The bus driver on route arrived at the stop discovering the situation, contacted 911 and remained at the scene until first responders arrived," Tyrone Area School District Superintendent Cathy Harlow said on Facebook.

we really need to do something to discourage people from using their phones when they are driving. I don't know what the answer is, but it's an epidemic. some girl almost hit me yesterday on the highway when she drifted into my lane and I looked over and she was looking down at her phone. just awful.

I don't think you'll ever be able to discourage people from doing stupid shit on their phone (I see it every commute in and out of Boston every day), I think you need to literally make it impossible.

I've thought about it some and the only thing I can think of to make it impossible is that cars need to be connect to a phone to be drive-able. Once the phone is connected to the car you can use the car and the phone then goes into a driving mode that only allows for incoming and outgoing calls.

Obviously there are so many variables, get arounds and semantic that would need sorting out, but its the only thing I can think of.

A jury in the criminal court in the city of Cork took an hour and a half deliberating on November 6 to declare the defendant not guilty of raping a 17-year-old in a lane at night.

In her final address, defense barrister Elizabeth O'Connell asked the jurors to take into account the underwear the teenager was wearing.


"Does the evidence out-rule the possibility that she was attracted to the defendant and was open to meeting someone and being with someone? You have to look at the way she was dressed. She was wearing a thong with a lace front," she said, according to the Irish Examiner.



Using a thong as evidence of implied consent was considered victim-blaming by many women on social media, who started publishing pictures of their underwear using the #ThisIsNotConsent hashtag.
