I'm too old for festivals now. Especially Roo. From what I've heard, it's an ordeal for most people. The idea of hiking miles back and forth to see the bands I want isn't really appealing. I'm sure they have some VIP thing, but it's become so commercialized that I don't know. It's a bucket list thing for me...I'd rather do a glamping or in and out thing at this point though. Spending three days in the Tennessee heat and humidity in the middle of summer is not appealing to me unless DMB was there all three days, or any of my other top 10 bands. Love me some Mountain Jam, though.

Unless they've moved people back further as they've bought more land, you're not hiking miles. I was pretty far back one year and it was a 10 minute walk. Not bad at all. I don't think there was anyone who had to walk more than 5 mins past that. So that's probably a mile max.

if you're out in the sticks there it can be up to a 30-40 minute walk - basically making it infeasible to go back and forth to centeroo to resupply/rest - and it's been that way for a long time. that said, most people are within a 15-20 minute walk radius from centeroo. last year, with only 50k people or whatever, there might not have been as many folks out in the boonies as years before. they didn't even use pod 1 for general camping, either.

this will be roo #11 for me. don't feel strong either way about u2 being there. it's a big get for them, but doesn't appeal to me much. haven't kept up on the clues or other bands, so am looking forward to the lineup drop.

This year will be our 2nd trip to the Farm (2014 was our other year). We bought early bird tickets again because we were going no matter what, so I'm pumped about U2. Pretty wonderful get for a festival.

i would say roo would be a festival to go to if you're older. i went in 2014 and there was a good variety of age. i went to austin city limits in october (Age 25) and i felt old as fuck. seemed like 75% of fans were high schoolers. ACL being a day festival and in a major city made it more attainable for younger fans attend

but ill agree bonnaroo is hot as hell. and you have to be cool without showering for a week. so if you aren't there for the love of music, it's not worth it

i was in the furthest lot possible. it was a 30-35 min walk. just a bit too long of a walk to want to go back to my tent between sets during the day

Are you a fast walker? I walk ridiculously fast. The way I see it, I have some place to be and all time in transit is a waste. And I can't stand people walking slowly two or three abreast.

I've heard this. What about riding a bike though? Would there be bike racks to secure it or is that kind of thing allowed. Somebody could make a killing renting faster modes of transit. Probably already are.

I won't be cool with not showering. I sweat, badly. My swampass is so bad the EPA gets involved. In my mid-30s now, so I can gravitate between age groups. I've always preferred older, though.

U2 sucks, maybe one year the Roo lineup will entice me to go. Last years main acts were big, but outside of that I didnt like it.

If last year was DMB taking a hiatus I probably would've went just for PJ and dead and co. I loaded up on DMB since they are taking this year off.

Bros tend to suck, nothing wrong with molly though

One of my best concert experiences anywhere, let alone at Roo was Bassnectar -> LCD Soundsystem -> Deadmau5 on molly.

If you go to any Roo related forum, no one is arguing it. I'm not going, so i'm rolling with it. I can see The Weeknd being a headliner.

Yes, I'm 6'4 so I have long ass legs, plus naturally fast walker. So yea, I can probably walk a mile in about 10 mins. So maybe for normal people it would have been 20 mins.

I have no reason to doubt Andy, he could be right, maybe I just missed a section of camping that was further away. I just don't remember there being 20-30 more mins of cars past me where I was, nor have I ever talked to anyone that had a 40 min walk. And I went in 09 and 10, so those were almost peak attendance years. But I could be totally wrong.

yeah, in 2007 we got stuck in the boonies by the east tollbooth. i'm a 6'3" dude and it was a 35-min walk in those crowds. we didn't stay at the campsite very much except to sleep.

the chili peppers again? shit. i like them, but i don't need to see them on the farm again after only 5 years or whatever. that's disappointing. don't care about the weeknd. i'll believe those are the headliners so that trio isn't doing much for me. i'll see u2 for sure, i haven't seen them in 15 years, but the others i might do other things.
