Really depends how far you want to drive. Lakewood is on the south side of ATL. Last year I stayed at the Hilton by the airport. It was only about a 10 minute drive.

We always stay at the Best Western at the Hapeville (Airport) exit just south of the venue (since we're coming from the south). You can take back roads to the venue... easy 10 min drive. Yeah, it's through the hood but I've never felt nervy driving through there. However, that being said, if I was in a "not so reliable" car and traveling with just other girls, I might not have the same opinion. But me and the hubs in my trusty Sequoia feels pretty safe.

I feel like Lakewood is a hard place to tailgate just because of the multiple entrances. I'm down to meet up with people though. Usually get there a couple hours early anyways.

I think the main lots are perfect for tailgating. It's a decent size lot. Should have a central meeting spot though.

But I see your point it does have a lot of entrances and it can confuse some people that have never been there.

My favorite lot is the on the left entrance of the venue. Nothing but dirt, rocks, and blazing hot temps

Most of all I want them to play a good show in Atlanta. They're usually so hit or miss here.

don't they wait to open the main parking lot too? I feel like last year the main lot was still closed, so we parked in the grass lot across from VIP vs. waiting to get into the main lot. Worked out so much better as it was an easy in/out and we had already been set up and drinking for over an hour before everyone else got to get into the lots.

I've always had a blast in the Atlanta lots. After show they are hard to get out of, but the last two years I've had fun with it and busted out some Vanilla Ice and had people do a dance off with me. Anyone here one of my victims the past two years?

Does anyone know how large the pit is going to be and what seats will be $85 vs $75?

I would assume PIT and Lower Pavilion and the Lower few rows of the Upper Pavilion will be $85 and Upper Upper Pavilion will be $75. PIT is large in Atlanta, not sure of an exact number but certainly over 150 people

Atlanta pit removes 5 rows of seats on the side and 6 rows in the middle, which removes 375 seats. They sell 750 pit tickets...ridiculously oversold...about 100 pit ticket holders with wristbands weren't allowed into the pit last year

Not a fan of covers in the encore outside of a select few, but that's a nice looking set.
