Have been twice and camped both times, once Sleepybear, once Green Acres. Both have their pros and cons, really depends on the scene you're into. The venue itself is fantastic, great sight and sound all the way around, lawn included. Did pit N2 in 2018 and it was a hell of an experience. One of the smallest and most cramped pits, but that's just part of the experience. Not sure I can handle pit both nights there but one night is just right.

    What was green acres like?

Do they allow camping onsite at Deer Creek for other shows?

Very large and sprawling property. Wide open fields in the middle, most people staked claims around the outside which was lined with trees and shade. Tons and tons of room to spread out if you want because there is no assigned size or spot.

Most of the sites had fire rings at them and they sold firewood up at the gate for a very reasonable price. Bathrooms were portapotties but they were plentiful and mostly clean all weekend. Shower was up at the front gate and was an outdoor shower off a barn if I remember correctly.

You could seclude yourself and have a quiet private weekend or you could situate yourself to have a fun party weekend. Both are entirely possible. I would stay at green acres again

Is there a shuttle or is it walkable?

To be honest, I typically just stay at my sister's over in Westfield (20 minute drive) but camping is also fun, and not having to drive is a plus. Especially since they like to setup random police checkpoints heading west after the show.

There is a shuttle be we ended up just grabbing an Uber both nights because we were meeting people early in the lots. It’s definitely not walkable but it’s a 10 min Uber or so

Venue camping is just making a campground out of a parking lot. There are no shower facilities that I know of; they might bring in mobile showers. I could be completely wrong, but I've camped at Sleepybear since 2010 and this is just assumptions based on driving/walking past venue camping. I know there's zero shade and they pack 'em in.

Well, mainly wondering if they bring in mobile showers or allow food trucks. I understand it's totally a parking lot

They brought in mobile showers last year. I wish they’d allow 3 nights camping at the venue, but they don’t anymore. Stayed at backstage campground last year Thursday night and venue fri and sat.

Does anyone know if backstage campground will be back this year? I heard last summer that the owner sold his property and it’s going to be a golf course.

They've said that for the last few years. I'll check and report back.

Venue camping has mobile showers, mobile bathrooms, ports pots and vending.
They don’t pack it in anymore than the other campgrounds with designated spots.
Venue gives each vehicle a 25’x35’ camping/parking space.
    It’s not overly policed.
Cheapest camp ground in walking distance, $150 per car load, not per person, which obviously is relative to how many people are in your car.

I thought their lawn is one of the better ones I've done. Plenty of room, good sound and you can see the stage.

If I did SPAC last year, should I give up a return trip to go to this? It’s earlier, not a terrible drive, and a new bucket list venue. I just hope the sets are good!

Sets have been awesome the last few years here. Alpine regular and if I ever had to choose between the two in a summer it would be a hard choice. The venue itself at Alpine is hard to beat but Creek is fun. Solid tailgate experience, city nearby and plenty of walking distance hotels/camping. Never been to SPAC so I can't compare to that but energy is high here.

Classic misconception. The walk way right below creates a great tunnel for air flow.
