Did you see any of the '08, '10, '11, or '12 tours? Pure consistent greatness. So I'm not sure what your talking about.

Well, I am sure there are plenty of people who would shit on people who think an average show today is the same as back then. Call it golden era if you want but I believe the shows were better back then.
My intent is not to demean newer fans who weren't lucky enough to see the band back then but 1995-2000 was the best this band has been IMO. I have no doubt people who go to shows today enjoy them every bit as much as I did back then. I have seen shows in the past few years that were a lot of fun but they don't rivet me as much as a while back. Apples and oranges though for the most part.
Plus, it is not all about the live environment at all. The song quality of stuff written before Everyday was on average better than post everyday.
I still love the band and will see them when I can but I am just giving you one perspective. I have been lucky enough to see them a couple times a year or more since 1995 and IMO 1995-2000 was consistently better. Less pee break songs for me, less paying attention to the stage and more chatting, more songs I think are mediocre, and frankly more drunks.
Like I said, not being judgmental, just giving you my thoughts. During the time frame I mentioned there was usually a number of moments per show where I was genuinely floored and happy as hell. They don't happen nearly as often anymore. IN addition in that time frame I used to struggle to find a song to use as a pee break, now I know I only have to wait a song or two to find one I am just as happy hearing from a speaker.
