Eh, I don't really mind it. I find NYE to be tired and played out in the sense that a big party just doesn't appeal to me much anymore simply to celebrate the New Year. I'd much rather do something with just us, or, as we did last year, do a weekend getaway with another couple which was a ton of fun.

To that end, NYE just doesn't really matter to me much anymore, so having a wedding on that day doesn't impact me any more than it would any other weekend.

I know a guy getting married this NYE out in Colorado. He's a huge Georgia fan though and his wife's a Clemson fan. Pretty sure they're flying out to a honeymoon on January 1st, so not sure how that's gonna go.

Why is The Sound of Music always played on TV at Christmas time? And to piggy back on that, why is “My Favorite Things” always on Christmas playlists? Legendary musical and iconic song, neither of which have ANYTHING to do with Christmas. That irritates me.

On New Years Eve last year, I signed more marriage licenses than I can recall. I had people calling after morning/afternoon needing their license signed (didn't even want a ceremony, just wanted to be married before 2017).

Just in time to get then filed at the courthouse before the new year begins.

Yeah, usually on Thanksgiving and Christmas I get a lot of calls to do weddings, because the family is all together. So I usually will perform 2-3 weddings on those days after I'm done with my family stuff.

I'm having my own Larry David moment currently. I've been working on a project for the last three months and have been working closely with our Lab Information Systems team. My friend was married on NYE a while back.
At first I was annoyed, but I actually really liked it.
It was a lot of fun - and at a hotel, so we obviously just stayed.
I mean, dinner, all you can drink, with a dj / dancing on NYE and you’re staying at the same place where the event is? Why not...

That may have been the last time I actually left my house on NYE.
