Re: Red Rocks 2012!!!
I don't have evidence either way, but I'm hopeful. My evidence is simply: they released A LOT of dates in a lot of popular markets with this brand new premium ticket at EVERY venue, which in my opinion was in hope to financially strap the fans, thus allowing the denver and surrounding markets legit access to the tickets. Now, I am not sure how or when the '98 and '05 shows were announced but I can say that since 2005 the concert market has grown SIGNIFICANTLY. (please dont give me this recession crap, the pure exisitance and emergance of main-stay and new music festivals is proof) The reality is people/concert goers are more willing to travel. THAT is why as much as we'd all like to believe that DMB wants ALL of us at EVERY show, they know its not true and we should too. My reference for example is the WRIGLEY FIELD shows. I can't even count how many minutes, hours, days I spent scowering the internet searching for any shread of PROOF that these shows were happening. By the beginning of june, I was pretty disheartened but still slightly confident as per the rumors were just NOT dying. I forced myself come to the conclusion that they were happening and I just needed to be patient and save my money. THOSE shows were announced FRIDAY JULY 2ND!!! hardly enough time (for me) to pull together enough money to request tickets as I was at alpine valley that weekend for who? dmb. they waited to the last POSSIBLE second to give THAT market one last chance to think about spending a butt load money at alpine or to make sure alpine sells before people abandon it for wrigley. thats a basic marketing tactic designed not necessarily play games with the fans but to REACH A MUCH BROADER SPECTRUM OF FANS, OTHER THAN US DIE-HARDS.
another piece of evidence thats no co-inky-dink. that tour logo. how can anyone let that tour logo go? its the same as the red rocks 2005 poster!!!!!!!
my statement to the nay-sayers: I don't know you or your sources, so I wont bother debating the vaildity. HOWEVER, my theory is you and your sources are on here killing rumors, in hopes of getting people to buy tickets in their own markets. makes sense. if you dispell the rumors, then theres the possibility at least a few more tickets opening up for you and yours, right? I dont blame you. I want tickets too. Sometimes I dont even tell my own friends about shows that are ANNOUNCED, because I dont want them buying MY tickets. hahaha. its true. examples: eric claptons crossroads festival and rock and roll hall of fame induction ceremony. I'm not accusing. just saying. Its pretty obvious that there will be SOMETHING in colorado. when was the last time dave didnt play chicago, minnesota, colorado, all in the same year? those are pretty big markets.
I' m not saying its going to be red rocks, but if it wasnt, I'm sure they would have just announced it with the rest of the dates, I mean whats the big deal about holding back on DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PARK?
either way, I hope this brought some hope to some ants. I'm NOT giving up hope. if it happens I. WILL. BE. THERE. I dont care if I have to pay $1000 a ticket to some asshole on stubhub. obviously I dont WANT to but I will because dispatch last year was amazing and I refuse to rob myself of that memory. theres no price tag for that.
