Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

Since it wasn’t in the trailer here’s the leaked scene from the other day if anyone wants to see it: http://my.mixtape.moe/vixfjr.mp4

It also has a great Easter egg from a comedy show the Russo’s used to work on.

Both Marvel and DC have an impressive list of actors, after all they are basically one of the most important parts of a movie.

    Here's DC's list:

    Oscar Winners:

    Ben Affleck
    Jared Leto
    Jeremy Irons
    J.K Simmons
    Russell Crowe
    Kevin Costner
    Holly Hunter
    Chris Terrio (screenwriter of Argo)

    Oscar Noms:

    Amy Adams
    Diane Lane
    Jesse Eisenberg
    Viola Davis
    Will Smith
    Laurence Fishburne
    Michael Shannon

Suicide Squad also, amazingly, won an Oscar for Best Makeup and Hair Design.

I only did Infinity War.....skipped all of the other MCU movies which is much larger. (6 more winners and 14 more nominees).

Looks like Fishburne will be the first to play in both unless I missed something.

Also not trying to get into a pissing contest about better actors DC vs. Marvel. Still back to my original point that I would be interested to see a breakdown of salaries and see how much the talent cost for this 2 part finale is.

I didn't view it as a pissing contest, I honestly think it's incredible how many talented and acclaimed actors have been in these films. We're in the Golden Age of superhero movies, I find it awesome despite my feelings toward certain Marvel films.

Anyone catch any of Runaways? It dropped on Hulu recently. I watched the first episode today and it's pretty interesting.

I always liked the books, its one of the better new comic series created within the past 20 years.

Thor 2 is lame. It does deal with an infinity stone, but other than that only the Hulk is worse. Thor 3 is great and completely different from 1 & 2. It also has a big infinity war related scene in the credits.

Movies completely unnecessary to sort of follow along what's been happening in the overall arc would be Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Guardians 2, and Spider-Man Homecoming. The last two on the list are great but I'm not sure are critical to watch in order to know what is going on in Infinity War.

You could probably skip The Incredible Hulk if you have a general awareness that Bruce Banner turns into Hulk when he gets mad and then smashes things a lot. Could skip Ant-Man and Dr. Strange if you are ok just accepting that they are supporting heroes who will be helping out the Avengers in Infinity War.

Leaves your core movies to know what's going on and who the main players are:

    Iron Man
    Thor
    Captain America
    Avengers
    Winter Soldier
    Guardians
    Avengers 2
    Civil War
    Thor 3

EDIT: Forgot Thor 2 and Dr. Strange both involve Infinity Stones. Still not sure they have to be watched. Just realize Dr. Strange has one and Thor gave the other to Benincio Del Toro.

Yes. Don't really remember how much it played into Infinity War stuff but I certainly remember leaving the theater incredibly disappointed. Obviously form your own judgment and report back but I think it was one of the worst Marvel movies to date.

Yeah it's on one of the streaming services online and I always am tempted to watch it just for completion's sake, but I never actually do. It doesn't fit into the universe and it's Edward Norton as opposed to Mark Ruffalo (who I think nails the role). Meh.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

I enjoyed Incredible Hulk a lot more than I thought I would. I'm a DC guy, so I don't know everyone's origin or backstory, but I thought it was entertaining. Just watch all of them. As for my opinion on the movies that aren't that great...

    Thor was alright
    Thor 2 was not
Iron Man 2 is just kind of there but not great at all
Iron Man 3 was very entertaining but very different from the others (that's the first movie that really started to take these movies into the comedic direction) However, I loved it, so not sure why I put it on this list.
Captain America 1 was alright but a bit slow and didn't do much for me
Avengers - I'm going to get nailed, but honestly this movie was just alright to me. It was fun, it was the first time it had been done before, but overall I've always found it a bit overrated. I enjoyed Ultron way more.
Civil War......First off, Winter Soldier is one of the best comic book movies of all time. My hopes for Civil War were immense after Cap 2. Then they released the first trailer and I thought it was going to possibly rival Cap 2. Then I saw it and the seriousness of Winter Soldier was gone and replaced with the new comedic formula of the Marvel movies. It's aged much better for me now that I get where they're going with these movies, but when I first saw it I was incredibly disappointed.
