Re: What was the last movie you watched?

My next three from blockbuster:

Mona Lisa Smile (I'm in love with Maggie, Kirsten, AND Julia)
Almost Famous (never seen it, heard GREAT things)
Adaptation (loved Being John Malkovich, hope to enjoy another of Kaufman's works; hopefully Nicolas Cage doesn't suck; my first reaction opening it from the mailbox: "holy shit! Maggie Gyllenhaal's in this one too!)

I'm quite pumped.

Worst to best?

They are already worst to best. Adaptation is fantastic, especially if you want to be a writer and have a lot of self-doubt.

And yes, Maggie Gyllenhaal is amazing. She is cute as a button, but at the same time sexy as hell. I hope you've seen Secretary.

Wow, some great movie-watching going on in the Ants community. It's absolute blasphemy that Eternal Sunshine isn't in the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die.

You know how you said you had no desire to see Disturbia after seeing Rear Window? I now see what you mean.

Tonight, I'm gonna watch Philadelphia, which has my all-time favorite movie song (Streets of Philadelphia) in it, Quiz Show, for the first time, and The Contest episode of Seinfeld, also a first viewing. Should be fun.

Cool to hear you're watching Quiz Show tonight. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it, since it's still fresh in my mind from watching it yesterday.

Traffic is on the agenda for tonight. Never seen it before, but it was one of the choices that my production teacher gave us to watch for a paper assignment and he suggested to see something that we hadn't seen before. I am looking forward to watching it, because I haven't seen a lot from 2000.

Got the Ken Burns series on the Civil War from Blockbuster... the last 3 discs are set to go now. I forgot how good that series was.

It's a teriffic showcase of the futile war on drugs. Soderbergh made a very political movie according to himself. Which is awesome. The dialog between Topher Grace and Michael Douglas sitting in a car in the hood, is fucking amazing.

I'll have to watch it again soon.

The Sting was new to me, so it might be new to others. I'll use a spoiler.

Click the "Show Spoiler" Button to reveal hidden text.

And I need to watch Rear Window again. It looked like it had a lot of depth that is easily missed in a first viewing.

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. 8/10. Probably Steve Martin's best movie (which isn't saying much). Brilliantly done, incorporating clips from old movies and starring just about every big name from the black and white era.

Rigby Reardon: I hadn't seen a body put together like that since I solved the case of the Murdered Girl with the Big Tits.

Traffic - Extremely thought provoking and powerful movie. Very strongly written. Soderbergh knows how to do interconnecting story lines so much better than Haggis. 9/10.
