Nissan Pavilion >> Jiffy Lube Live

So - if you were planning on seeing DMB at Nissan Pavilion this year. Don't count on it. I mean by all means if they do a show there this summer you can still go. Just don't call it Nissan Pavilion. Call it "Jiffy Lube Live"

Maybe they will offer oil changes while you wait FOREVER to get out of the parking lot after the show.

Venue Name Fail.

New ad campaign: You can get your oil changed 46 times in the time it takes to get out of the lot!

Everyone says this is the worst venue to park and exit after the show. I do not agree. I went last year, parking was free(crazy), and I got stuck in way in the back. It took about 20 min to get out of the lots and I was on the highway within 30min. I dont think that is bad at all. I have been stuck in Camden for over an hour just to get out of the lot I was in, forget about making it to the highway. That was another 15-20min.

It's all a matter of where in the lots you park and which sections they let out first. Everyone has a story about getting out of Nissan quickly, because obviously not everyone gets stuck waiting.

I've been to probably 100 venues over the years and Nissan, er I mean Jiffy Lube, has the worst parking lot situation. The last couple years I've gotten home from the Hershey show earlier than I've gotten home from the Nissan show... pretty bad since Nissan's about an hour and a half closer to my house than Hershey.

Same thing here! I got stuck in a bum line (went nowhere for about 20 minutes), so I just turned around really quick and went to a line of cars that was actually moving (slowly but surely) and was outta there in another 10-15. Not bad.

The 2nd time- not even 5 min.

Re: Nissan Pavilion >> Jiffy Lube Live

So since I started this thread I can share a few stories of my own. I actually worked at Nissan Pavilion in 1998 as a summer job. Unfortunately I met the Backstreet Boys, Sharon Osborne, and Michael Bolton and not DMB. Okay I didn't meet Michael Bolton (thankfully) - but you wouldn't believe the amount of security he felt we needed to provide for him. Anyhoo - for bigger shows (i.e. DMB, Jimmy Buffet, etc) the employees had to park offsite and get bussed in. That actually was better than some medium sized shows where employees had to park deep within the lot and wait with traffic to go home. I too have been to a DMB show (1998) where I got out of the lot in 5 minutes or less. That's because we were late getting to the show.

Nowadays we just simply pay for the "premium parking" because honestly it does give you some priority in leaving. The problem does sort of exist with the parking lot itself. It doesn't have any real structure or anything - especially since a decent portion of its not paved. The other major contributer is Wellington Rd - being the only way in and out of that place. It's a two lane road and at the end of the night they turn it into a two lane (same direction) flowing one way or the other depending on what exit you leave from.

If they were to pave the lots - it would help eliminate that clusterf#%k to get to the exit.
