I care. Truthfully, I'm still obsessed enough about any year they'll give us.

There was a lot of excitement when it was first announced. Make people wait 6 weeks and that excitement drops off. This is one of my top requested shows, so I am still super excited about it.

Also, you shouldn’t need 6 weeks to have a ballpark of how many CDs will sell in the first couple months. This is the 60th volume, the targeted customer base is already in place, they should have a good idea by now how many to print.

I’ve seen many people trying to explain the long LT pre-order windows by saying they need to know how many to print. The main way I know that’s either 1.) incorrect or 2.) DMB sucks at it is the fact that every Live Trax volume from 45-59 is still available to purchase on the CD format.

It'd be interesting to see just how many LTs the band actually sells on average. To bring up the Dead again, each new Dave's Picks gets 25k copies, and they inevitable sell out before the preorder window closes.

They make a first run of it and estimate how many they'll keep for leftovers, OR make a second run after that preorder and keep a certain amount in storage. It's not like they go 9,321 people pre ordered this. We'll make THAT many.

I would like to know as well. The Dead has a way different enormous fanbase, and these limited edition Daves Picks become collectors items the second it's sold out.

The supply and demand approach is definitely part of that marketing and it works. Dave's Picks aren't available on any steaming or download platform at all. Of course you can easily find ways around that if you poke around.

At this point I would imagine these LTs have wayyyy lower buy in than they did in LT 1-30. How many casual fans are spending $20 plus on a CD preorder of a random show from 1995 in 2022 unless you're a diehard.

Some of these LTs that haven’t sold out are dating back to 2018 and are still available. If you want them in stock for years, just shoot high. I don’t see why they’d need to know how many people will pre order if they are planning a second run down the road, or want to keep some in storage for years. Makes no sense to me.

The mix on Satellite isn't what I was hoping. I know 95 DMB is tough to capture, but I'd almost prefer an aud tape of this as opposed to this mixed version. Something doesn't sound quite right.

Mix sounds fantastic to me. They've had some terrible LT mixes in the past but this sounds good.

Maybe it's just the 95 sound then. It's tough to beat L@RR for sound. Mix of Dave's Chet and that snare, and trying to mix the bass in between.

Listening to '95 DMB really reminds me what a great song Satellite is. It's easy to forget because its such a setlist filler song, Boyd and Roi are no longer there, etc. But at its core, it's a great tune.

I agree with this and I also really like it on Live Trax 30 and when they did the acoustic sets.

We've all seen it to our heart's content, but people go to shows hoping to hear Satellite. I'd say its probably AT LEAST in the top 5 of any general/casual person going to DMB for the first time's want list.

LT21 was given a good score on loudness. As was RR95 somewhat.

21 has a great sound and one I just came back to recently. It is under appreciated. I think they were releasing a lot of mid 90's stuff on DMBlive at the time and we were over saturated with it. On it's own, it's fantastic.

It's one of a handful of DMB tunes that has really never changed over time. I think Carter might emphasized a few things differently over the years, but it's never had extra intros, jams, or outros. I think Song that Jane Likes might be the only other one that comes to mind from the early batch of tunes.
