That's great!
At the risk of not having shared this with anyone other than my wife... I spoke to a psychologist for the first time last week -- I've just had some more anxiety lately than ever before. It was good talking to her, and it was explained how they can't prescribe certain controlled substances in that medium, but I was given a low dosage hydroxyzine that I could try whenever stressful situations arise.
I haven't taken any of it yet though. Just booking the appointment made me feel a little better. Then days before it, I got some kind of an update/news on something that's maybe been subconsciously stressing me out a bit. I think that helped. Then I was out of town at a friend's bachelor party and I really felt like being away and unplugged for a couple days was good for me. Then the appointment itself/talking to someone, plus getting something I could take also felt like it helped a lot, without actually needing to take the meds.
So on one hand that's all been kinda nice. On the other hand, I almost want to have an excuse to try the medication to see how it works, how it affects me, etc
kind of a conundrum
