Alig served 17 years for pleading guilty to killing and cutting up his drug dealer.

Fascinating story, liked the movie.

    i havent seen the movie so just going by that article, no the punishment does not fit the crime. he should have gotten a lot longer than that.

    I'm pretty much on board with the idea that if you're in for murder, you should be sentenced to life, so no I wouldn't say the punishment fit the crime. Eligibility for parole is where it gets tricky though.

    It also appears he has no shame about his crime based on his tweet.
