    Re: *** Texas Two-step 2023 ***

If you're going to do Dallas lawn with your kid, you'll want to line up super early and make sure you have a spot on the front line of the lawn. This requires skipping a lot of tailgating and is done mostly by fans who want to pay attention to the show, so the partying up there will be lower key than in the middle of the suck. It's also likely the only chance of the kid being able to see from the lawn, as everyone stands up there too except for the way back.
Or go all the way to the back. There will be families back there. You won't be able to see shit, but it'll be chill.

Also dallas has screens on each side and depending on kids height I bet they could stand on chair. I know if a child was behind me I would move to side or do anything I could to make sure they could see and have fun.

Reading this ticket convo - I'll prob put a premium request in for Woodlands but how bad are the WH uppers in Dallas I would get stuck with? Debating on just trying Citi/regular on sale for Dallas. Seems everyone is clear lawn isn't an option lol

The thing about Dallas seating is that the venue is really wide, so you could get "close" seats but still be pretty far away. Don't get me wrong some of my best DMB experiences have been at this venue but the venue itself is low on my list.

It was taped if I recall correctly but the taper had to move when the pit flooded and they are pretty unhappy with the resulting recording. Idk, I'll inquire about it again. I think the JTR is in the Copperpot video.

Terry Blacks is the best around that area, Pecan Lodge is not bad, but better off going to Blacks. It is a nice set up with a small bar and can get in and out pretty quick.

DART is fine to the show, i wouldn't take it post show.

boots, no hat in Dallas. it's not fort worth!

Ok to be lawn or is it just way better in seats?

Thanks all! Maybe we will see ya there
woodlands lawn is a top tier lawn in the country.

lots of hotels nearby. large group staying at the drury now, as I suggested it. I have stayed there for probably 5-10 DMB shows over the last 20 years.

Heim is good, but no reason to go there when they'll be closer to pecan lodge and terry blacks

Piker's whole group does lawn at Dallas. They can provide you protection on the lawn for a nominal fee. I wouldn't advise braving it alone. I've seen a lot of strong men come out permanently broken after trying to solo the Dallas lawn.
2 miller lites and I got you.

I haven't been on the lawn for DMB in over 15 years. I can live with the risk of Dave dropping an F-bomb. But how many other... extracurricular activities are happening out on the lawn? The last time I was out there, the teens sitting next to me asked if I had any weed.
you're asking if people will be smoking weed on the lawn at a DMB show? yes, lots of it. not just "teens" either.

get there early to be at the front of the lawn, or hang at the back. lots of families and kids at the top of the lawn. no issues.

Does the Warehouse still rope off a section of the lawn until the show starts? If so, get your lawn seats through the Warehouse to bring the kiddo

No limbs falling but I could legitimately ice skate down the middle of the streets. If I had ice skates.

Also. Dallas lawn is fam. Pops has been a WH member forever so he likes seats but I’ve done Dallas lawn with friends twice and it was chill af. Of course seats are better but no lawn hate here.

    New member here, hello everyone!
My wife is a HUGE DMB fan, basically our beginnings as a couple are framed around "Under the Table" and "Crash" as she would play those records all the time while we were dating in 1997... we married in 1998 and this May will be celebrating our 25th anniversary.
She has never seen the band live so I am planning for this year to be the year... we live in NM and our anniversary is May 2nd so I am shooting for the Woodland show to be a surprise belated anniversary gift (renting an Airbnb, flying over from New Mexico, make a few day vacation of it for her).
So here is my question... I am not a Warehouse member (but certainly could join) and as such what would be the best way to get two tickets as close to the stage as possible? Is it even possible?
I want this to be a special thing for her, she's an RN and pretty frazzled after the last couple years of working on the frontlines of the pandemic -- and that we have arrived at the big 25 mostly intact as a couple I want the whole trip to be amazing with of course the big moment being the concert with as close-in tickets as possible.
Hoping you folks have some suggestions and thanks for reading!

The Warehouse request period has already come and gone, so no point in joining now. You'd just be paying for a shot at Instants or their utterly god awful excuse for a ticket forum. No guarantee you get anything.
You can try Ticketmaster. There will be a Citi presale if you have a Citi card. It's been mostly trash the last several years but worth a shot. Then the public sale. It won't be IMPOSSIBLE to get lowers, but Ticketmaster realllllly fucking sucks these days. Most of the good tickets go straight to Platinum/Resale (more on this later).
If you stalk the ticket forum here, you'll probably be able to score lowers closer to the show, but since you're coming from out of state, you might not want to cut it that close. And judging by your join date and post count, I'm guessing you don't spend a lot of time on the message boards, so that's probably not your best option either.

If money is no option and you want to be able to pick your seats, there's Platinum and TM Resale. Expect to pay well over $1k for a pair if you go this route.

Thank you for the detailed reply... so I guess that's a Hard Maybe with Conditions then.
What is Platinum? Is that a club or what, very unfamiliar with what constitutes ticket purchasing these days. I'm old -- I went to big shows when the Police were touring for Synchronicity and Yes was supporting their 90125 album. You went to brick & mortar record stores and bought tickets, easy peasy done.
I do and have done smaller venues in the last few years but there isn't a mad rush for those sorts of tickets - Psychedelic Furs, Robyn Hitchcock, etc.

Any pointers are more than welcomed, thanks again.

Platinum tickets are through Ticketmaster. It's not a club, it's just Ticketmaster selling the best tickets for market value. They'll be on sale at the same time, through the same online portal, as regular tickets.
