I went to the show so I went ahead and bought it along with the poster.
Excited to have both...at the end of the day it's another DMB live release and I have enjoyed just about every one I have ever owned...maybe except Hollywood Bowl 2018.

The surround mix at least will resolve those issues, have never compared folding down the surround > stereo because the surround is lossy but it would certainly result in a different stereo mix and would be more dynamic for sure.

It would be great if for every show they have to cancel this year, they should release a live album instead. LT51 fills in for the Byron Bay Bluesfest.. now they need to release LT52 & LT53 in lieu of Melbourne & Sydney. BottleRock cancellation is imminent... better prepare LT54!

If this sat on the shelf for years, then dump everything on us as a LT. Like they did for the original 5 DMBLive releases. They must have a queue of mixed shows.

I imagine that's where LT 50 came from as well. A vault of mixed shows, some fan favorites, others management picks. There are a few that pop up over the years that feel like place fillers plucked off a shelf from previous mixes (LT 35, 26, 42, etc)

Grateful Dead have a 15 CD, multi show boxset coming out Friday, a DMB set like this would be SO epic!

26 is a great release, definitely shouldn't be considered a place filler, IMO

I think we will see more of this stuff after the band retires. Can’t give us all the gems at once. They gotta keep this thing rolling for years to come.

I miss two-three night stands being released as a LT. They should go back to that. They could also release one of the Caravan stops as a box set. Like the Randall’s Island caravan stop.

I remember set watching on these boards back in summer ‘07, and having my eyes glaze over whenever American Baby Intro —> AATW would close a show. Less than 13 years later, I’m looking forward to ABI —> AATW from this release when ABI has only been played full band full length 3 times in those 13 years. And this is a Roi show.

abi...>aatw was a turning point for me--it was when I realized that leaving early to beat the traffic actually was a great idea and very rarely would burn you

I would like ABI - AATW but it depends on the amphitheater, it's debatable if #40 - SUAD - Two Step is worth the 2+ hour wait in the Mansfield parking lots

It sounds like that on the tape too. Probably an amp setting, it sounds cool I think.

That’s why 2010 versions sound so different, I don’t like them as much.

I listened to LT 42 version to compare and it sounds similar, but not quite as "power-chordy" to my untrained ear, more just that full 12-string sound.

I like the more 'strummy' sound of the 2000 version of LT 16.

Actually now that I’m listening to it again, I can hear Dave’s guitar, it just sounds like a regular acoustic. Even on LT42, when Dave screws up and keeps playing you hear the acoustic at the end. Someone else is making that electric sound, maybe Stefan?

I still think that's Dave. When he strums muted strings you can clearly hear it's distorted.

I always thought the 2007 tour sampler had an electric guitar on it....for years. Go re-listen. It sounds exactly like this.

That crossed my mind as well, but at other points you can hear traditional piano sounds, but maybe he's crossing back and forth.

When I first listened to that YouTube clip I went and checked on the almanac to see if Tim had maybe guested on this show.

I also looked to see if there were any 2007 Copperpot shows with this song I could compare but couldn't locate any.

It's probably just the effect on Dave's guitar. Maybe they just had it especially cranked up for this show. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree, the vocal delivery is a lot better than in 2010 and it has a sax solo for the first time since 2000.
