She performed a good cross section of songs and fit a lot into a two hour show. She doesn't talk much (seems a bit socially awkward), just bounced from one song to the next for the most part. I guess she wrote (and maybe recorded?) Strange Mercy in Seattle, so she had some nice things to say about the city which always gets the crowd going. Really glad I went.

I agree with your thoughts on the production. It kept it fresh.
I did miss the live band she had the past few times I saw her. I think that being the sole focus of attention put more pressure on her. The presence of a band frees her up to do other things as a performer.
Still, when she cuts into a guitar solo, sweet damn is she electrifying.
I also fanboy'd big time, got there super early and wound up in the front row.

I'm hoping Rostam's departure doesn't change the dynamic too much. They're 3/3 for me so far, but that's a big piece of the puzzle to lose. We'll see.
My most anticipated is either Courtney Barnett or My Bloody Valentine, assuming Kevin actually meant it when he said there would be a new MBV record this year. He said it would 100 percent happen, but he's a George R.R. Martin/Axl Rose-tier predictor, so I'd credibly put the odds at, like, 15 percent probability.

That's strong praise. I'll give it a crack.
