what the fuck... that show looks amazing. i dont have lt5 so i dunno (only missing 9 and 5) but come on.

to those who have it, does it compete performance wise to the originally chosen set..? cause that set on paper is gold.

If they close to releasing this, than that means they already have it mixed and ready to go, they should go ahead and release it.

i concur. it doesnt have to be a live trax or anything. just put it up for digital release on the website.

although i havent listened to the recording. is lt5 that much better? this show looks good on paper, but would it not be worth the 15 bucks?

its good folks. I want to say so far through 6 songs its amazing. better than LT5 so far, it doesnt have exodus, maybe they wanted to give us that. by give, i mean sell it to us.

i agree. exodus and jimi thing off lt5 are two of my itunes most played songs.

In the Ants+ forum, Jake mentioned these four shows, as some that were close to getting released, one way or the other. He's written "tiny blurbs" about them in the tour central - go take a look

I think 8.23 is better than 8.31. DRH guested on more songs, and we already have one SBD from 8.31 (minarets...the best track !!)

i'm looking at it on dtree right now. its worth it then? i know its SBD, but how does dave's voice sound? is it almost too high like some of the other early shows i have?

I think quality of the recording is as important as performance. In ranking the LT's

I have a hardtime judging which is better LT5 or LT8 they are both close.

I know people jizz or LT1 but I don't get it. It's good yes but I don't think it's superb or great (flame away) I prefer Live in Chicago. For the record I don't have LT12 yet.

Really LT1 and LT3 that low? IMO those are two of DMB's best shows ever, not just LTs...

LT1 is my #1 favorite show, wish they would've released 12.7 with it (incredible Two Step and LIOG closing combo with Bela, seriously mindblowing).

In evaluating the recording, I just don't think it the best out there. I don't know what they do to the mix that makes the recordings sound so different. But someone is doing something. I wonder how I'd feel about that show if the recording sounded like LT5 or LT8. (or if I'd been there).

LT3 for some reason that performance does not stick out at all for me. I think LT11 is wayyyyyy better than LT3 while the recordings I basically ranked as equal.

One thing to note in terms of recordings, I was at RR05 Night 3 and I think the recording sounds much better than the performance that I saw. When I was there there was this weird echo effect or something going on that bothered me but didn't seem to bother anyone else.

Everyone sees (hears) things differently I guess.

One other thing to note, I said I prefer LIC over LT1. That is kinda skewed because LIC is tainted due to overdubs which I don't think are present on LT1. I'm not sure how much that gets talked about when referencing those two shows since they are close in date.
