My favorite part of a cup clinching game is watching the guys who are winning for the first time. The look of pure joy on Kimmo's face when he lifted it was unforgettable. Similar to Ray's look (yeah, I had to get the Avs in here somehow!)

Yeah, that was all kinds of class by Toews, so happy for Timmo!

As for the series - HELL THE FUCK YEAH! I am all kinds of amped up, I cannot imagine how the people living in Chicago feel right now.

Amazing save by Crawford on that breakaway, really seemed to suck some life out of TB!

What a rock Keith is, holy shit - he is not flashy but no one deserved the conn smyth more than he did!!!!! Very happy for him!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, motherfucking yes!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawks HAVE to find a way to sign Saad back, he is amazing as well.

So happy, now I get to shave my playoff beard and cheer on our US women's soccer team in the World Cup tomorrow!

It's a few minutes until 3 a.m. and the party hasn't even started yet.

@spshoot: Cup chasers, there are still 30 limos parked outside the United Center. Most of the players still in dressing room. http://t.co/0HDunOVaO0

@ChiTribSkrbina: 15 more cases of beer just rolled into Blackhawks locker room. Not leaving soon. Hossa tapped out, though. Veteran move.

@ChiTribSkrbina: And they just ordered a bunch of pizzas. #blackhawks

Congrats Hawks' fans. Modern day dynasty, for sure.

Very classy they gave Kimmo the cup 2nd. He must really be well liked.

Crazy how Bishop had a torn groin and Johnson a broken wrist and they were still out there.

Bizarre the Cup was late getting there due to Chicago area flooding. Where the hell was it?

    Let the offseason festivities begin.

The best part about Kimmo winning a Cup is that he didn't do it in a Flyers jersey. Thank goodness for that.

Sorry to take away from Hawks talk but gotta talk about stupid fans again. Of course whiny Wings fans saying how Holland sucks in the cap era and they've got so many bad deals and look at how good the Hawks are now. Yep, while the Wings were winning 4 in 11 years (or if you want to look at 13 years say they went to round 3 or beyond 7 times in 13 years) while in those 11 year Hawks only made the playoffs twice. You can't have it both ways. It will be like in 10 years or so Hawks fans bitching that the Sabres are young and good while the Hawks are getting older. Bad deals they pointed to. Howard, Zetterberg and Franzen and of course say they could have had Hossa instead of Franzen. Yeah if only Holland would have known Mule was going to have a concussion issue 6 years into the future. Howard before he got hurt was having an all-star year but lets ignore that and Zetterberg was basically having a point per game year before he struggled down the stretch (with the rest of the team). Also Holland took this team from $70mil to $39mil and didn't have any drop off then 3 straight years for round 3 or beyond with a Cup in there. Not bad for a team most people picked to miss the playoffs the first year out of the lost season....Sigh. Do I wish the Wings were dominate right now? Sure. But do I give up those 13 years of greatness just to be happy now? Fuck no.

    OK, carry on.

Those complainers aren't the real fans. Those are the long time bandwagoners. I relate that mentality to all the Yankee fan complainers over the last few years when we really haven't contended. They forget how bad the Yanks mostly were during the Mattingly years when the Stadium was half empty. I am and was ready for a rebuild for them a few years ago. I feel blessed to have witnessed the Jeter years and all that success. And this comes from a guy who watched way more games as a kid during the Mattingly years (he's my favorite Yankee). The Wings are the poster child for how to succeed long term in the NHL. Every team wishes they had their success of what, the last 20 years. At least in hockey, you can make runs for the Cup while not being the "best" team unlike in baseball where less teams make the playoffs. Their jealousy and hatred of the Hawks is coming thru there, too.

I know and it's just frustrating to read that crap. How shortsighted can you be? They do it to the Pistons too and ragging on Joe Dumars and how he screwed this team up, ignoring that after Grant Hill ditched them he built them into a champion in just 4 years after that. Not that he should be totally let off the hook for how it ended but amazing how they forget that and point to the bad stuff.

I've been working up a response to all the douchebags in this one FB post, while trying to actually work lol, but wonder if I really want to post it cause you know they'll just have some comeback and point to bad deals or some shit. Yeah Hawks have none of those in recent years. Huet, Campbell, drafting Jack Skille ahead of Kopitar, Neal, Rask etc, signing Dan Carcillo...

You are right about not being the best in the NHL playoffs and making a run. Pointed to it a lot the last few weeks, Wings should have been up 3-1 (and played better than them in game 7) on the team that just lost in game 6 of the finals...

I replied. I had to. I'll probably ignore any replies to me cause it'll just piss me off but...whatever. lol

Offseason time! (sad I know) I've said it the last year or so that the Wings are in that weird spot. Clearly can still challenge but also don't want to sacrifice the future. Need to upgrade that D and shed some salary (weiss and kindl). I'd like to upgrade a little bit up front but if Franzen is coming back like they say and Paulkinen has to be on the big club and Ferraro totally deserves a shot after his playoff Wings will are at 15 forwards when you include Weiss. So even if he's gone they don't have the roster spot to add anyone.

Congrats to both teams for making it to the SCF. Bigger congrats to the Hawks for winning. They're def a dynasty. Can't dislike the players on the Hawks, they're so talented. Hope they enjoyed pounding Zimas out of the Cup.

Feel bad for the Lightning. Cooper seems like a great coach, that team is going to be ridiculous for a while if they can keep that group together. I would be surprised if they don't make it back to the SCF next year or at least come close. They may soon have one of the best d-men in the league and easily a top-3 core of forwards (or better).

There definitely was very little separating these teams and in the end it was just a couple of lucky bounces that were the difference. All of this talk of Keith with the Conn Smythe, Kane coming through huge with an assist and goal, Toews being the captain....but Crawford was the difference in this series. Amazing play in these last 3 games.

hopefully a healthy Rangers team can get it done next year!

That said, the West still reigns superior. Eastern Conference fans...our teams have work to do!
