If Kim jong un was smart (he's not) he'd be spending his time trying to be a wedge between the us and our allies. He'd be spending his time building his relationship with China and making arguments as to why our allies (Japan and South Korea especially) shouldn't be allies with America.

I'm really sorry your family is going through this Roger. The Medicare setting the bar for everything else is awful and tough to understand how bad it is until you go through it. Getting a really good medical office manager for your primaries or head specialist is the key. They completely change the experience for a patient and their family because they know what the hurdles are and actively work to avoid them even though it's a damned labyrinth. I wish I had some helpful advice on accomplishing that.

For the little that it's worth, I'm thinking of you and your family.

I'm saying that Dems have a habit of applying thought to their policy proposals that aim for a beneficial outcome. That end can be very good politically (and it should be). But, in this latest case with healthcare (and other cases like tax cuts among many others) the Republicans' process seems to focus more on politics than policy. The Vox article where a reporter asked a group of Republican senators to explain how this bill would benefit constituents and all their answers were akin to 'well it doesn't but we said we would do this so we have to' is a perfect example.

His surname or "last name" is Kim, just in case you didn't know. A lot of Chinese names and Asian names go surname first and then given name.

It's why his grandad was a Kim (Kim Il-sung) and his pops was a Kim (Kim Jong-Il, or, as I'm confident he preferred to be called, "The Il-matic" ).

Another example is Yao Ming. It's why you always saw him called Yao rather than Ming even though to us Murricans, Ming seems like it should be his surname.

Yea, I know. Since his father is well remembered I sometimes put Un to make it clear which Kim Jong I'm talking about. Kinda like we will casually say W or HW to make it clear which Bush we're talking about.

Obviously wasn't necessary in that post though, of course.

Gotcha. I recently had to explain it to a friend who kept calling him Jong-un, so I figured I'd throw it out there just in case.

It was a confusing discussion:

Nick: "Kim is his last name."
Friend: "Uh, no, it's not. It's clearly his first name, dumbass."

Just read Asian Trump's full remarks. If you sub out the proper names (Trump for Kim Jong Un and USA for North Korea) it could easily be something Trump would say... except for the fact that Asian Trump writes in English at a much higher level than Trump does.

Kind of a big difference between an off the cuff remark during a casual interview and an official address to the United Nations by the President though. Also, Quaddafi was dead at that point, so I doubt there was much risk of him responding by doing something crazy.
