Re: Metallica 30 year Aniversary gigs- San Francisco- December

Load/Reload have aged fine… but I did hate them back then. I didn’t care much for the Black album either because that was the start of the shift in sound. As someone who loved the early stuff, the Black shift was hard to take. Followed up by Load, they lost me for a good long while.

My spouse is a scholar and professor, and I'm just a lowly metalhead, so we both laugh for different reasons when we look at her bookshelf

Orion is a pretty solid show opener.

    Yeah it's fucking awesome!

Interesting they debuted Sleepwalk too. That's my least fav song on the album but I know others really dig it so it's cool. Lux live seems fun.

I was hoping for a "Spit out the Bone" on this album but nope.

It’s the best song since Justice so it was a high bar… but the song 72 Seasons gives me some slight Spit Out The Bone vibes. The speed, the changes, the heavies.

I’m still listening to this album quite a bit. As well as the Metallica station on Sirius

Same, Drop. And a lot of the Twitter reaction was that 72 Seasons was this album's Spit.

I finally signed up for nugs.net. Been listening to a lot of the Metallica shows. Good shit. A lot of Billy Strings too but that's a different kind of awesome

$120 for the Justice box set in FLAC. I would consider that if it didn't come out to $17 a disc. That's a bit much for a digital disc, IMHO.

Went to the theater tonight to watch N1 in TX with my son. The sound and picture quality were great. It was pretty awesome really. Going again on Sunday.
