Couldn't agree more. Had a blast seeing Dave and Tim for the first time and was fun following this tour on the boards. But I'm really starting to get that itch for a full band weekend

Really hoping to make my first Gorge run next year if I can make it happen. Which likely means only other shows would be Alpine. If I don't bite the bullet on Gorge it'll be Alpine + St Louis and another one off show somewhere. Or throw Creek in there with Alpine depending on tour schedule.

Long story short... I'm craving the full band experience again. And the anticipation of another great Alpine weekend

Just keep it at 25-30 shows.... the tours with 40-50 shows make no sense after 26 years (besides more money). Dave's voice and the rest of the band are so burnt out by the end of that tour.

yeah 25-30 is a good range. Most of the week night stops just dont need to happen anymore. They normally dont draw well and do nothing but tire the band out.

I agree. I'd like to see 25-30 shows where Dave and the guys are consistently fresh and tight. Not sure that would make any difference in terms of setlist variety though. At least no different than what we've seen past few years. Destination venues get their share of TD's and rarities. Other stops are a crapshoot

No way do 2 NH shows and mansfield and hartford happen. But for the most part youre on. Add in Pittsburgh and take away those NH shows. I just doubt theyll go back there. If they do it would take mansfield's place likely.

Probably throw in a couple more west coast shows as well.

Hartford and Mansfield in no way get cut. Just look at the lawn last year in Hartford. There's a picture on the DMB site. They'll both get one night. Hartford was pretty much sold out in 2016 and Mansfield was a sell out.

The NH venue made it pretty clear that they wanted D&T back. I think in 2016, both nights sold out or they at least did very well. I remember reading an article or something online where someone high up in the venue was quoted saying they were trying to bring DMB back. I wouldn't rule out a return there. I don't think Mansfield is going anywhere and Hartford is humongous venue and a staple in their regular tour so I'd imagine that it'd be back. It gets a weekend date every year for a reason.

As much as I hate to say it, if they are going to cut back venues, I would not be surprised to see Jones Beach cut. It was a venue they avoided for several years, came back in 09 with two shows, then it was dropped to one show, and this year it did not sell out (it used to). I'm not sure if they are willing to chalk it up bc it was D&T but I always felt like the only reason they kept coming back was because it sold out. It's not exactly a big venue in the first place since there is no lawn.

Then again I could be completely wrong since it was one of the few venues that got D&T.

Would it be that far-fetched for DMB to play a few bigger venues next year? I could see them selling out a place like Fenway, especially after taking this year off/if they release good new material.

I can see a Phish like tour where half the country gets pissed there's no tour in their area.

11 shows in east early/ mid summer.

8 in west late summer

I actually think taking the year off is going to hurt them With hard core fans.
I already know of some that have gone to shows yr in and yr out that were pretty upset this yr they wouldn't see anything and now have realized that they don't miss them.
It wouldn't shock me if next yr they don't go back out to see them or at a minimum cut way down on what they used to do.

Agreed. I wasn't upset they took the year off, but as my enjoyment of full band shows was dropping for the past years anyway, and now I can see I can get thru a whole year without them, probably won't travel to see them anymore, particularly if there isn't a new album

I think the tour will be an abridged version of the normal tours. 30-35 shows, maybe a couple new cities or venues. A few smaller venues but mostly traditional stops.

Why wouldn't they come back to NH? They sold out both shows and they were two of the better shows of the entire tour.

They could definitely go back.

Im just saying in the sense of a paired down tour, its hard for me to see them doing NHx2, mansfield AND hartford. One of those will be cut methinks.

Yeah NH sold out both shows im pretty sure. They would easily do that over Pittsburgh/ another venue that doesn't sell well

There's obviously a lot more to it than "sell out" and "good show"

2006 Red Rocks sold out 4 shows and they were great!! Haven't been back in over 10 years (equipment hard to load, yeah yeah)

It's seems in recent years they play a few brand new venues for a year or two to help them get started, NH could be a case of this

Pittsburgh sells well when its one show. They still sell 15-18k tickets.

Idk why people ignore it so much when making assumed tours but always include blossom. Pittsburgh sells better than blossom regularly.
