    Really enjoyed 85, fun listen.

Kit Kat Jam mixup could easily be resolved by announcing 06.20.03 as the next Live Trax.

Also, I can't believe it's been almost a decade since the line-up change. Does anyone remember if there were rumors prior to Butch leaving & Tim joining? I would not be surprised to see a line-up change after this hiatus, and I think all options are on the table for 2018.

Definitely agree on Snow Outside acoustic, that was a perfect fit and sounds much better than 2012/2013 Snow Outside to me.

It's amazing to me that people are making a big deal out of Kit Kat Jam. We still got a flawless version, compared to some songs on Live Trax 25 that are far from perfect or flawless.

Why does this keep being jokingly referred to as Live 25 (28)? I assume that it's because there are Dave demos that date back to 1989, but what does that have to do with this being a commemoration of DMB's 25 years playing live?

cool podcast. i always enjoy listening when i can.

    top 3 tracks:

    1. say goodbye. this is a top 5 DMB performance, ever.
    2. bartender. top 5 version, going against LT31 bonus, folsom, 9/4/00 with flecktones that closes set, and 9/2/00.
    3. doobie thing. captures the band at their rawest. you can sense the magic.

top 3 that seem to be just filler. cool, but i dont see whats so impressive.

    1. big eyed fish > granny. absolute filler.
    2. dont drink the water. good, but standard. trippy intros are always cool.
    3. shotgun. i dont see whats so great about this. its too fast, and very much standard.

    hidden gem:

falling off the roof. i loved this from the beginning, and im glad we finally have a SBD.

    overall: fantastic release. bravo, DMB.

Because there are technically 28 songs on it.

Yeah I tend to sway towards the sarcastic.

And I did like the episode. All sarcasm aside, I enjoy listening to you guys geek out. I always end up agreeing with at least one of you.

regarding the KKJ mix-up, what if when – presumably – management releases a digital version of Live 25 they include the 6.20.03 KKJ instead of 6.18.03? That way we all get the "correct" version, but those who bought vinyl have an even more unique – aka valuable – collectors item. Just a thought...

Anyways, thanks for the podcasts – keep em coming!

I don't really care, mine arrived last week on time and it doesn't matter to me which version ended up on the release but it's just a WTF moment for me. How a band as big as this could produce such a special release and mess up something like this is just bizarre, how many people did the approval progress go through? Before I even send out a tweet, I check it and read it over 5x. Again, I could careless we got the version of KKJ we got, more of just a peek into the inner workings of DMB or Music Today? Crazy a mistake like this could happen

Great pod though, gets me through the empty DMB summers

Live 25 is a spectacular package. Whatever involvement Jake had in guiding the project/selecting the songs, Chapeau! Great versions, and many songs that we have zero or few other official releases. KKJ mix up is goofy and not a big deal. I wouldn't think too many people were dropping that amount of money for one specific version of KKJ. Band/management/team scored a solid A+ on this one. Great songs, great mix/mastering, really well done sleeves and box. Any major complaints on this feels like people straining to be upset by something.

That's pretty much my take on it too; those screaming are *really* reaching for something to be outraged about.

To me, it's barely even a top 5 Say Goodbye of 2000, and doesn't even register vs. 1997 - 1999 Say Goodbyes. Wouldn't make a Say Goodbye Live 25 5 LP set.

Hey Jake....I know you are busy writing for all the sites you do...but since you worked so hard and with management on this amazing set...any chance you would ever post a song by song breakdown on what was the deciding factor that went into choosing these songs...it would be a great read and nice companion piece from someone who actually worked on picking the songs.

I don't think I can really get into that, it might be a bit "too inside."

but in the previous podcast I mentioned the #41 story - just take that x25 and that's basically it

Your post is quite ironic. In a humorous way. All in good fun
