Re: Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief - Sept. 12

Dave's voice is what it is after 25 years. And for what it is, I thought his vocals on that performance were amazing. It was challenging for him to be in falsetto at times but he absolutely nailed it. A beautiful performance and fitting song selection for the show.

I'm not familiar with the country artists but as far as I know, he was the only one to play his own song up to that point.

From people.com..... dave was last minute

    http://people.com/celebrity/behind-t...cane-telethon/

The entire event came together seamlessly, Scooter Braun – whose SB Projects was one of the organizers – told PEOPLE, with the star-studded group of participants more than happy to help out.

“I was struggling to find a performer in New York, not because people didn’t want to do it, but because of scheduling, and I threw a Hail Mary to Dave Matthews,” admitted Braun. “Dave Matthews was in Seattle, and Dave Matthews – with two days to go before the event, he said, ‘It’s the right thing to do. I’ll fly in.’ And he flew himself from Seattle to New York to perform that song.”

Just watched for the first time. These comments are so dumb. I can't read through anymore.

    Ok, one more dumb.

    This is correct.

Great performance. Dave didn't finger pick the song and the falsetto throughout is so hard to do! My wife watched the video and after seeing him live for years she said, "He just doesn't look so tired". I would have to agree. Great tune!

This was a cool event, got to be in the audience in Nashville. They muted Dave on the PA system at the Opry though to set up for Brad Paisley and Friends.

Really liked the way he played it in standard tuning. Would be cool to see him play it this way with Tim and then still go into the piano outro(Really enjoyed the version from NOLA N2 in 14)
