Re: Live Trax Vol. 62: Blossom Music Center 6.25.2010

This show has 13 songs that aren’t on LT 22, 14 songs that aren’t on Citi and 10 songs that aren’t on either. So maybe they just looked at it from a set list diversity perspective? Now if you like those 10 songs is another question…

What about on LT 28 from that year as well?

You could also say LT 27 and Wrigley. Going in order, Wrigley takes it down to 5 new songs, LT 27 takes it to four and LT 28 does nothing. So the four unique songs are Recently, Eh Hee, Little Red Bird and So Right. So I guess it just depends if you like their sound in 2010.

Stand Up (partial)>Corn Bread(tease)>Recently (partial) from Pine Knob 2010 was released on the The Sweet Sounds of Superfly During Jazzfest Vol. 17 album...Little Red Bird on the Citi Field bonus disc....so you could take those off the "2010 uniqueness factor" for this show as well.

So we're left with...Eh Hee and So Right?

How much do you think that the original poster having a turntable on it went into this being chosen? I could see them sitting around and just thinking that the poster pairs well with a vinyl release. Now if only they would get to work pressing the missing albums to vinyl that are shown on that poster....

I dunno. If that went into the decision, they could have gone with a 2021 show as the Summer 2021 Tour Poster before MSG & Columbus were announced was a similar looking poster.

You could make this argument about any year with a lot of releases…1995,1996,1998,2000,2004,2007,2008,2009

Since they gave out a 2021 show for free to Warehouse members earlier this year, they may have thought they'd have trouble selling a LiveTrax of a 2021 show (in the same year).

Also: I don't remember this poster. Can you post a photo?

I strongly believe this was the main reason the show was picked (although the venue and the fact that it's not a show from the last few years was also a factor).

If the poster had been assigned to a different 2010 show then we'd be getting that show (not Polaris) and the marketing team would just have written a different blurb justifying the release.

You know, maybe we would have better off if Hilly had pulled something out of his arse to amp us up to finally be let down for what LT62 actually was.

I attempted to listen to LT 22 today.... could not even make it through a full song, even the stone. 2010 was so heavy rock, such a different band. I 'removed all 2010-2012 dmb albums from my phone. For many of you that want alpine 2012..... no thank you!

In the Hands of God from LT22 is one of the band's best performances, ever.

LT22 is difficult for me to listen to because of the mix. It sounds so muddy and muffled to my ears.

I know I’m in the minority but I really liked the bands sound from 2009-2012. Atlantic City and the Big Apple Bonus Disc are two of my favorite releases to listen to, and their mixes are some of my favorites.

LT22 is one of the best Live Trax and maybe the best show they've played since LeRoi died

It's enraging that the 85th live album doesn't have a lot of unique songs.

It's enraging that management is out of touch with the what the fans want. It's disappointing in a year that had many stellar shows, a mediocre one was chosen. It's disappointing that in a band with a nearly 30 year legacy, countless milestone performance still remain in the vaults.

Maybe that'll be next year's Christmas LiveTrax!

(Night 3 of Gorge 2018 is one of the 10 shows I most want released on LiveTrax)

No, you're mad that DMB is trying to make a lot of money, instead of just putting out the shows that we hardcores want released.

Because this LiveTrax came with so much merch, obviously DMB chose a show that they think will sell a lot of merch (and they have access to all the sales data so they can estimate better than us which show will sell a lot of merch).

You can be mad about their choices for Live Trax 59-61 and 63-65, because the quality of the show should be a higher priority for those LiveTrax, but even then, you only know which shows you like and whether people on these boards are complaining, whereas, again, DMB has the sales data. They MAY be choosing shows that maximize their revenue, and we just don't realize it. (The location of the show may play a bigger role in sales of a LiveTrax than we realize, for instance).

I would have chosen Columbus N2 2004 if I were to pick an LT holiday bundle release. It's a really good show and a fun listen. Has a great DDTW

I will say I’m pretty excited to finally good a good release of the 2010 recently medley. The other one we have is from an obscure 10 year old Best Buy compilation CD with a bad mix and labeled “Shake me like a Monkey”
