If it gets hard and fast during the summer, I’d look at utility irons too.

I can fly mine about 225 off the tee and 215 off the deck and it is more versatile than a hybrid, IMO.

Burnt out and hard as a rock in the summer. I can get off the tee fine with 5w and normally 4i although that got a little shaky at times last year and not nearly as consistent driving 4i as the year before, I'm looking for an easy off the deck 200+, really feel like it could help a lot playing the longer courses. I'm not great off the deck with the 5w and like the idea of a more shallow face.

I’ve got a Titelist one. I personally think they’re easier to get off the deck than a hybrid.

I’ve hit the 3 and it’s pretty similar.

The 2 is for people better than me.

I’m still in love with my Callaway Super Hybrid. It just gets a little case of the lefts sometime. It’s playable off the deck, but it’s definitely a fairway wood swing.

i'm torn between adding a hybrid and a 4th wedge. with a 44, 52 and 56 in my bag, i could use maybe a 48* wedge. but for those instances where my 4/5irons arent enough and my 5w is too much, i could use something.

That’s a big gap with wedges. I would fill that.

its what i'm leaning towards over the longer club. as a long hitter i can generally make do with the gap between my long irons and fairway woods, but its around the green where i need more finesse. there's a HUGE difference in distance between my 44* and 52* wedges.

Can you get a matching wedge for the set? Seems like the easiest solution.

I’ve got matching wedges up to 54 degrees. Typically leave the 54 out of the bag unless it is really wet.

should be able to, all my irons (wedges included) are calloways

Got to do member for a day at a private club today. Lost a lot of money playing putting games against senior citizens and shot 81.

Shame the course is 45 minutes from my house.

The new Scotty’s are nice. Grips are obnoxious, but they’re really toned down from 5 years ago.

Wish they would have found a way to have a solid milled +. Maybe next time.

I’m sure it was thousands of swings doing gradual damage, but I was just hitting shoulder to shoulder wedges to empty out the bucket.

My irons are in rough shape. The repairs are probably costlier than the trade in value.

They tossed a used shaft in there and I’m back in business.

Pretty sure my wife tossed a box full of meat on top of my clubs on Sunday when leaving Costco. Hoping this is the only one.

How is golf for little Noles going?

Not bad. He is playing in his 4th tournament of the year on Monday. It is local so I will be able to go and watch. Happy about that.

Nice. Hope those work out for him and he is playing well. I'll be getting my first new set of irons this year since 2017, looking forward to it.

I got my first new set since 2011. I didn't NEED them, but it's definitely nice to refresh the bag finally. And they look damn nice.

    What did you get?

Also do you typically play on Gorge weekend?

I got a very slightly used set of Ping i525s on ebay. Maybe a two or three rounds on them. Butter and beautiful. Got a blade-ish look with tons of forgiveness and a lot more pop than my old set of Bridgestones.

    https://ping.com/en-us/clubs/irons/i525

We do not usually play on gorge weekend just because we're with wives. Usually just hang out at the winery or go down to the river to take a dip. Not a ton of great course options in that area unfortunately. You have Suncadia, but that's a bit of a drive. The boys usually go there later in September for a weekend golf trip. But, if you can fit it in it's worth a stop.

I'm going to play way more golf this summer than I have in the past 5 years, and cannot wait. I haven't played with my dad since we had my 4 year old. My parents lived 7 hours away and anytime we had a long weekend with them he didn't want to give up half a day with his granddaughter. But we moved slightly further away from Minneapolis last summer and then they moved 5 minutes from us in December. And my new neighborhood has a solid group of guys with kids at a similar age who also golf.

I should be able to get in 20 rounds this summer after averaging 8-10 the past few years. Now I just need the snow to melt and temperature to get above 35.

I've been really looking at the PXGs, especially the irons. Was thinking of getting a whole bag when I sold my motorcycle, but unfortunately the money went elsewhere.

Just looked. $1800-$2400 for the GEN6s. Jesus. I think the max I'd be willing to spend on a new set is ~$1200. Thinking of doing it sometime later this year.
